Finally
Ratlam Railway Division has sent two important suggestions to Mumbai headquarters of Western Railway to recover the loss of the Indore-Lingampalli Humsafar Express running continuously with less booking. The statement that either the route of this train should be changed or six Sleeper Class Coaches should be installed in it. Currently Lingampalli Humsafar Express runs via Ujjain, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Pune, Solapur and now it has been proposed to change the route and run the train via Bhopal.
The issue was raised during Railway Minister Piyush Goyal visit to Indore last month. The Railway Minister had assured that he would call for the Indore-Lingampalli train report and would consider changing the route or adopting an alternative in this regard.

After this there has been a stir at the Divisional level. The Railway Board may take a decision in this regard at the time table committee meeting to be held this month. The Indore-Lingampalli Humsafar Express was inaugurated on 26 May, 2018 and since then the train has been running in loss with less booking.
In normal days, even the entire train hardly gets 100 passengers. The Humsafar Express has a total of 19 coaches, including 1 pantry car and 2 generator cars. The impractical timing of Lingampalli Humsafar Express is the main reason for its flop. From Indore, this train leaves every Saturday at 7.30 AM and reaches Lingampalli at 1.45 PM on Sunday next day. In the return train depart from Lingampalli at 9.20 PM on Sunday night, and arrive Indore at 1.35 PM on Monday night. Due to odd arrival timing of train at Indore, this train never been able to attract passengers.
Ratlam Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vineet Gupta said that it is estimated that if the train run via Bhopal, it will get more passengers. Another suggestion is to have six sleeper class coaches installed in the train. Recently, the Railways had installed Sleeper Class coaches in many Humsafar Express running in Indian Railways. At present, this train is not getting booking from anywhere.
The DRM said that no proposal has been sent to change the route of the weekly Humsafar running from Indore to Puri or to install sleeper class coaches in it. This train is getting satisfactory booking.
