You can take the 14038 DLI exp to Delhi and then take the Ranchi Rajdhani,garib rath or the Jharkhand express to Ranchi.
as my work station is chamba,h.p. it is not posible for me to catch a train from pathankot before 9:00
then u can create some chains..
Options are
Take a train from pathankot to new delhi and then take a train from new delhi to ranchi.. Log into irctc and find out..
Take a train from pathankot to varanasi or lucknow and change from there to ranchi.. U will get the list of trains in irctc and do it accordingly.. Then u may not...

Well in that case take any overnight train like the uttar sampark kranti, jammu mail etc to New delhi and then take the jharkhand sampark kranti express which departs new delhi at 7 am.
