The old railway station, Mal Junction (MAL) has been renamed Malbazar (MLBZ). It was an old meter gauge (MG) station which has now been converted to broad gauge. Both the named stations are under Alipur Duar division within North East Frontier (NFR) zone, the abandoned station has been re-opened with new name few years back, the station is surrounded by market area, the MG rail track is no longer visible.
