As we all knw that on cancellation of tatkal no refund is granted, but even on emergency few people dont travel , but they dont cancel the tkt bcz they dont want to be in queue at PRS . for this purpose i got one idea i think railway shud start online cancellation of PRS tkt for this railway shud send a secret code on the passanger mobile number ( as filled in reservation form ) after entering secret code with PNR number cancellation of tkt can be done, this will lead more benefit to wl passanger. wht u say member abt this.

nice idea sachin, but even if it is cancelled online why would i take the pain to cancel it if it has no refund? i have paid tatkal premium and still no refund, then i wd nt cancel it anyways bt if i am given even 10% refund i ll go to prs and cancel it. also prs tkt is an official document. it can be misused. i may cancel it and then claim i hv nt cancelled it at all !!! great chances of misuse...
Idea is very noble but may bring out many discrepancies,many corruptions.
For tatkal when people are getting no refund, why would they be bothered to cancel them ? Even many who book tatkal eticket do not cancel if they dont travel.
