This train should be named as Lucknow Mail. Reason: it spends 2+ hrs in Lucknow area on both sides and has SIX stops in the city. Even express trains bound for big cities like Delhi make their way out of the city in ~4 - 5 stops. But six stops is absolutely humongous.
On a lighter note, from LJN-MLN, the SL and GN section is full but AC is generally mostly vacant. It is mostly used by loop line passengers on GKP-LJN as an overnight train. I also find it intriguing...
more... that the GKP-Barhni-LJN went from being not connected or only connected upto GD via MG and non AC coaches to a train that has 13 AC coaches in such a short span of time. I am curious to know how much higher is the demand for SL class in this train vis a vis AC.
Honestly, I would have preferred 10 AC coaches in this train and augmentation of SL/GN coaches. I am sure that would have helped both the passengers on loop line and also, the daytime passengers on LJN-STP-MLN.
