Most of the people end up taking train from Patna.
So they end up contributing ₹25(passenger train) or ₹50(express trains) in the revenue of Gaya station and rest of the large chunk of revenue in the coffers of Patna.

Personally I’ve not seen this happening but this could be the case for passengers going to cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad for which there are no direct trains from Gaya.
