This has to be the most egregious example of VB till now, running through rural Jharkhand. It might help folks from BBS/Cuttack through TATA but is absolutely useless for passengers from stations like Chaibasa or Kendujhargarh. Like the latter station doesn't even see 10 trains daily, what it needs is more ICE/Mail trains, not VBs.

I think such political VBs shouldn't have been run at all. Guess there isn't a shortage of routes where VBs should be introduced and will actually turn out to be successful, but the govt is only interested in distributing votebank lollies.
Just politics made this possible, otherwise could have planned for puri or vskp via Balewar route. And this VB didn't needed 2 rakes as i believe. They could have kept patna VB departure 1 hour late and departure time same, so that PM time would have been managed. Even SER is also not confident regarding the punctuality of both the VBs
They want to connect to all parts of the country with VB regardless of requirements and show pride and showoff among the people. VB has completely become a political toy train. These vote bank political will not yield any positive impact from masses who still constitute 60% of voters.
It's a vanity project which is doomed from the start. Just like Sampark Kranti, Duronto, Garib Rath, et al are now consigned to the past and no new trains from them are introduced, the same will happen to VB. Since VBs are so closely integrated with the current govt., any new govt. will not want to carry on the legacy of the previous one and hence, try to come up with a new service after dumping the previous one.

Just to reach on same day to BBS 12876 can be a good option, but 12875 is most popular for its punctuality. Which is mostly poor even if we compare it with 12820's punctuality. For people of tata 12802 is the first choice, then 18478
