Agree
Yes, ond third replacement can be great and ticket checking should be extensive and strict else it will be ruined too with daily ticketless travellers. Also these should be faster than memu/emu and punctual too as the people are paying more, if not then people will avoid it

But I am pretty sure railway will do just opposite they will choose to replace where there is just 1 or 2 memu in the section to mint money.

I once traveled on Lucknow - Sitapur rail route and the passenger trains there are the ICF one [not EMU kind] so every coach is disconnected to the next. Still, atleast once, I saw Ticket Staff checking tickets. They used to check tickets in one coach, then wait for the next stop and then change coaches. If NER can check tickets in such a situation, then ticket checking should be trivial on MEMU rakes where all coaches are interconnected. Though in practise it never happens.

Certainly they shouldn't think of replacing EMUs and MEMUs with VMs but I guess one cannot expect much from such a capitalist govt.

Its really good to know that you've seen staff checking tickets in passenger trains, because nowadays I don't find them even on Express trains.

They usually confine themselves to AC coaches only. On 11123/4 BJU-GWL Mail, I once had a split/two ticket b/w 2A and 3A. The TTE came immediately when I boarded the singular 2A coach. But when I changed from 2A to 3A at LKO, the TTE never came into 3A despite heavy presence of "railway staff".

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
