I once traveled on Lucknow - Sitapur rail route and the passenger trains there are the ICF one [not EMU kind] so every coach is disconnected to the next. Still, atleast once, I saw Ticket Staff checking tickets. They used to check tickets in one coach, then wait for the next stop and then change coaches. If NER can check tickets in such a situation, then ticket checking should be trivial on MEMU rakes where all coaches are interconnected. Though in practise it never happens.

However, I saw ticket staff checking tickets at least once. They would check tickets in one coach, then wait for the next stop and change coaches. If the NER (North Eastern Railway) can check tickets in this situation, then ticket checking should be easy on MEMU rakes where all coaches are interconnected. However, this never happens in practice.

Phir bhi, atleast ek baar, main ticket staff ko tickets check karte hue dekha. Woh ek coach mein tickets check karte the, phir next stop ke liye wait karte the aur phir coaches change karte the. Agar NER aise situation mein tickets check kar sakta hai, toh MEMU rakes mein tickets check karna trivial hona chahiye jahaan sabhi coaches interconnected hote hain. Though in practice yeh kabhi nahin hota.
