Despite the Chennai - Pune stretch now turning into an FEDL trunk route, there is no significant increase in the average speed of train running between the two metropolitans with the fastest one just clocking an average of 58km/h. Any inputs from experts in this regard? Also, no premium trains introduced between the metros yet which could attract the passengers ( just one weekly Humsafar (which is no more a premium train). Bengaluru is also missing such a attractive connectivity with Mumbai despite so much advent in technology.

Mumbai-Pune = Curvy & Mountainous in Bhor Ghats.
Wadi-Guntakal = Freight preferences.
Guntakal region = Freight preferences.

Freight load in wadi - guntakal - kadappa section is just 3/4th of what there is Howrah - Nagpur section which is having premium trains as well as regular trains running with average of 64 km/h.
As for the curves, none of the Mumbai chennai trains makes into the list of top speed trains in Mumbai - Pune section or kadapa - renigunta section.
Fastest of this route, 12163 runs with avg of meagre 51 km/h in mumbai pune section and 55km/h in Hx- Ru section while many other trains run...

with avg of more than 60 in this section.
Also, it should be noted that there are no early morning connectivity's to the two metros.. Also no train with dedicated rakes, all having RSAs
