Why do we have so less MMTS services plying in the twin cities?

None of the stations seem to be properly interconnected by railways. There are literally zero trains from LPI to KCG post 10:20 AM and before 4:10 PM. There is one service between LPI and CHZ. There is no train that connects FM and CHZ/GT.

is the limiting factor here? Is it the EMU rakes? Is there some work remaining for completion? Is it just poor planning w.r.t opening of CHZ terminal?

With 12604 and 12590 slated to operate ex CHZ from March (and possibly a few more by summer 2025), if there is no sufficient public connectivity, it will not only cause huge trouble for pax but also lead to wastage of such a beautiful terminal developed for CHZ and non-utilization of SNF-MACH line/MMTS P2.

Pax for Sankranti were limited by options hence might have been okay with travelling till CHZ by bus/auto. That is not sustainable for long term in cities like HYD, where there is an option of MMTS but is not being utilized.

Right now, from what I have heard, there are buses (around 5 per train arrival). But that is time consuming, especially for someone who stays on the west end (2+ hours by bus).

What they could do is operate CHZ-SC/HYB back and forth shuttle sort of train, around train arrivals and departures to facilitate pax movement.

would also go one step further and propose a model where pax wouldn't have to take a MMTS ticket if they have a train terminating at CHZ for onward journey within the city, but that is up for discussion when we have MMTS operating.

All in all, I feel railways has moved further away from being more accessible to the general public.

Agree with your last statement Railways has moved away from general public in accessibility and has let travellers use Buses and personal cab for transport which is increasing at faster rate then passemger growth in 300-700km intercity routes. I was surprised that you have changed 2 times to reach Charlapalli in metro and normal trains and railways are losing travellers like you. I have travelled from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad is March by Vskp Kacheguda deboarded at Malkajgiri booked a rapido which took 10mins for confirmation and another 5 mins to arrive and paid Rs 180 for Banjara hills and thought there is no point of boarding the train in 3AC and pay another Rs 200 for last mile when you get the ticket for same price in bus around Rs 1300-1400. return with me and other work so choose nearest pickup point Lakdikapul at 1800. I got sleeper berth for Rs 1400 with better pillow, cushioned berth and curtain for side lower when compared with 3AC in 12861.

Quadrupling of all lines where both Express trains and MMTS trains are running, is highly needed. Especially between Nampally and Secunderabad or atleast Hussainsagar Junction and Moula Ali Cabin. Space Constraints can't be cited as an issue anymore. Hyderabad is a growing city and infrastructure upgrade is much needed.
