I travelled on Friday 10th Jan 2014 to Kannur, Kerala by West Coast Express (16627) along with my Sister, her husband and her 2 year old son. Since my Tatkal E-ticket (PNR# 4605456573) did not get confirmed, i took 3 Sleeper Class tickets from Chennai to Kannur (Via CBE). The charge was Rs. 325.00 per ticket. When i boarded the train around 11.30 AM,the ticket was verified by the S1 compartment TTE and also by Squad. Since the reservation was full, TTE had asked us to adjust with someone as he would not be able to provide us a berth. When the train reached Coimbatore Junction (CBE), the TTE changed and the TTE had verified the ticket and he also stated, he might be able to allocate berth only after Shorannur Junction (SRR). When the train left Palghat, RPF divisional security commissioner (palghat division) M. Ramesh, was on rounds and he...

stated that we were not supposed travel by Reserved coach even during day time. He asked us to pay the excess charge to the TTE or go to unreserved compartment. The TTE was not ready to collect any excess charge, because the only charge that he should collect on my ticket was the charge of berth (Rs. 20 per ticket) and since there was no berth available, he was not able to charge that amount. So, i left my Sister & her kid in the same coach (S1) and me & my rother-in-law got down at Shorannur Junction (SRR) to move to general compartment. However the DSC M.Ramesh was on the platform and threatned to prosecute us. When i tried giving an explanation, he asked the RPF constable to file a case against us and inform RPF Calicut (CLT) to prepare the Bail form by the time we reach Calicut. Now my question is
1. Why was i issued a sleeper class ticket to Kannur at 9.30 AM if i cannot complete the whole journey in Sleepr class compartment.
2. When i was ready to pay the excess or move to general compartment, why did the DSC prosecute me?
3. Can i go ahead and file a case of Insult againt the DSC against the language he used in any court. And a case against railways for issuing such a ticket if the travel was not permitted?

I accept it, but when the TTE at palghat had verified the ticket, i did not find a reason not to travel in that compartment. Moreover, when i was ready to do what the DSC had asked me to do, why did he create such a scene?
