Coastal Karnataka elected representatives call for Konkan Railway merger with Indian Railways

Elected representatives from coastal Karnataka have urged the Railway ministry to merge Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) with Indian Railways. Ananthesh V Prabhu, President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted Mangaluru's high freight revenue contribution to the Palakkad division of Southern Railway and advocated for the division to be shifted from Palakkad to Mangaluru.
