The Dhanbad Division of Indian Railways has achieved the top position in freight transportation across India for the fiscal year 2023-24, generating 25048.43 crore rupees in revenue from transporting 188.73 MT of goods. The division is focused on enhancing passenger amenities and has implemented water recycling plants at several stations, including Barkakana, which currently recycles 0.5 MLD of water for reuse. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to stabilize the track at Sonardih on the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line, which was affected by a subsidence caused by an underground fire. This subsidence, resulting from a 9 square meter void left after coal extraction by the Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), is being filled with a mixture of sand and water.

Division passenger amenities ko improve kar raha hai, aur kai stations pe water recycling plants lagaaye hain, Barkakana mein ek plant laga hai, jo 0.5 MLD pani ko recycle karke use kar raha hai. Iske saath hi, Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line par Sonardih mein track ko stable karne ki koshish ho rahi hai, jahan underground fire se track dhas gaya tha.
