Hi.My mother is a cancer patient and taking regular treatment at CMC Vellore.We are from Hyderabad.Today i booked ticket with form 1/17 under Cancer Concession quota in this train.I don't have a photocopy of the concession certificate issued by CMC Hospital.I submitted the form in the station.What should i do?I have the online appointment letter of the Hospital.
Will that be enough?Or should i go to the same clerk at the station tomorrow and ask her to fish out the certificate and take a xerox copy of it?

yes normally thats how we do.The original 1/17 is to be given at the station

The first clerk said go and take xerox copy.i took.when i came back the line was big there and i went to another counter.the lady there took both the original and xerox copy.i asked her twice if she is going to keep both.she said it doesnt matter.actually i felt she doesnt know because she was looking at that concession form it looked like she never booked such a ticket.and now when i saw at the back of the printed ticket its given that you should carry the document supporting the concession.

yes sir.i have the printout of the online appointment and also the hospital id card and hospital chemotherapy diary.but i dont have xerox of the certificate.should i go to the station tomorrow and ask for it?

i have the original 1/18(return journey) concession certificate as i didn't book the return ticket under cancer quota concession.i booked an e ticket on venkatadri exp after coming home as they said the certificate cannot be used to book between an intermediate station(chittoor) and hyderabad(home station) but its easier for us to come back on venkatadri exp than sabari exp.i am attaching the 1/18 return journey concession certificate for an idea.can this be shown as a valid proof in any way?

i had asked the executive at the booking counter twice sir,i had a feeling that she was a new comer.previously also my parents went but they said they were never asked for a xerox copy.this is the first time today and the clerk whom i first approached told me to get xerox copies.i didn't know why.later as her counter was busy,i went to this person who booked my tickets.when i showed her the xerox,she took both the original and the xerox copies.i persistently asked if its okay if she keeps both,she just kept saying no no,she didnt even give a convincing answer but when i came home i got the doubt again and posted this as a query.i understand i have been foolish enough to not have got a clear clarification then and there at the counter itself.still...thanks a lot for your suggestions sir,i will try to go to the counter...
