Due to diversion in NDLS-TDL section, What about passengers boarding from intermediate stations? Are their reservations cancelled or shifted to later station(TDL in this case) or they are allowed to board from any station in diverted route?
Can they board from starting station? My friend has reservation in 12420(Gomti Exp) from GZB-CNB but due to diversion he has decided to board from NDLS. Is he within legal rules to do that and paying difference in sum of ticket would be enough to carry on the journey? Train is rescheduled to depart at 14:30. A quick suggestion from experts would be of great help. Thanks!

Passenger can not go backward however can board from next available point.
Can get refund too.

In case of e-ticket booked through IRCTC. Will the same rule apply(boarding from next available point) or ticket will get automatically cancelled?

Acc to European std, High-Speed Train is one which attains :
200 kph on existing track &
250 kph on newly laid track
Source: wiki
So, if 200 kph is HST than 160-200(excl) kph
can be considered semi-HST.....

dt statement was sarcasm....but now i stand for it.
by d way wat abt the sf category in European standard any idea sir.
if u come from Interlaken to FRA the max speed of train is 300kmph and avg speed was 150-155kmph(xcept some places where it tchs below 120kmph) through the journey which i observe in my 2014 trip.
and there is nothing like
semi high high speed in Europe but yes they collaborated with our country to develop SEMI HIGH speed train and to sold there old technology as usual they did.

Well your Ist remark is rather ironic nd contradictory but nyway,
going from suisse to FRA one is bound to see variations in speed due to mountaneous region(though I havnt been dere), same happens if one takes Paris-Milan TGV(exp vividly by my cousin), run is mostly 300 kph till Lyon but dramatically reduces post that when it encounters hill section(Alps) along border and once on Italian plains it rarely crosses 250 mark(even though Italy has 300+ tracks).
Certainly not every train in Europe is HST/semi-HST(semi-HST has more of a symbolic value)
sf, I don't think dere are any pan-european stds for it as they are for HST...
Regarding selling old technology, buddy dats a hard Indian fact dat is true for most of engg. fields except d ones which we were not given(ICBMs, nukes etc.)

Nothing is contradictory its depends on person to person how they interpret the things if u think dn sorry bro cant help.
and yes TGV easily tchs 300+ (fortunately experienced) and ask ur csn/s abt ICe he will tell u the speed of dt regions which i mentioned specially bern to FRA or vice versa..and again there is nothing symbolic or any written things for Semi high speed in European country like here we have.
and regarding selling old tech. yes its hard fact and i also accepted it and written in my
last blog(again its depends on person how they interpret)

First spotted this phenomenon in 2014 on my trip to GWL by 12280, almost every morning arrival train had P7 then which was definitely more than what one sighted at NDLS at that time......was simply overwhelmed!!!

Most of the P7 White stallins that cna be found @ NZm would be of LGD as most of the south bound trains were takes care by it....and then the home shed locos like GZB/TKD but not much @ NZM bur can find many many of these from these GZB and TKD sheds
