I happened to travel in this train for the first time(my bad) with the new timetable on 3rd and I really wanna share this.
It was just fair, nothing really special about the train except for no halts(it just keeps running and running on a moderate speed). The train was literally stinking at Ernakulam. The toilets! ugh. The train was all dusty both inside and outside, my cousins were sneezing all day and night, i caught a mild flu too. Lets see where the flu goes. Let me get real, there is no point in booking a 2nd AC or first AC(I was in both), you're gonna get the same kinda food. The food was just heated and served. It definitely
wasn't fresh, the staff himself told me to have the food quickly before it spoiled. All the stuffs(spoons, trays) were washed in the same big drum kept near the doors. Hence the doors remained closed throughout the journey. Something was wrong with the soup and paneer, i felt like throwing up. Dal-rice was my savior. The temperature was perfectly normal and not cold like you experience in rajdhani and other north bound ac trains(esp for south indian passengers). We had mosquitoes treating us all night. Not gonna say anything about it either(better than the rats in rajdhani lmao). The staff apparently weren't happy to give the complaint/feedback book but they were obviously happy to come with the tray for tips. Throughout the journey I smiled, said please and thanks and the only smile I got back was when we placed a 100 on the tray. Anyway i'm not gonna complain about that, I know how hard it is to wait on people for 15 hours.
So for travel tips, I'd say:
1. Give up on your hopes. This is just another rajdhani train with average quality services.
2. Carry some light food if you can. You're definitely not gonna like the lunch. So eat carefully in moderation.
3. Don't use the blankets either, they are full of dust and I think I saw a bug :( so keep the blanket aside and use the bed sheets instead(We were lucky cuz ours were new)
4. Carry an anti histamine just in case if you get allergies.
5. Please ask for a complaint book and liberally write your complaints. Please do that and ask your co-passengers to also do the same.
6. Ask the staff to have the toilets cleaned first. They stink the most and feels disgusting in an A.C coach.
7. The only reason the train reaches LTT on time is because of no halts, speed is just the same as netravati.
8. Don't tip the staff a 100 if you feel the service wasn't good enough. 50 is also fine and acceptable.
9. I wanted chocolate and they didnt give me one :(

Ladies Special trains on trans-harbour line will no longer be “ladies only” as men will be allowed to travel in six out of the 12 coaches starting January next year. The decision was taken after male commuters complained to the stationmaster at Thane that special services from Thane to Vashi and Thane to Panvel were running almost empty.
Currently, there are three services exclusively for female commuters on trans-harbour, including Thane to Panvel (9.14 am), Thane to Vashi (9.50 am) and Panvel to Thane (5.42 pm). From January, these hitherto women-only services will be converted to services with six “ladies only” coaches and the remaining six as general coaches. Four such services will be run in the morning and four in the
An official, requesting anonymity, said, “Basically, from three ladies specials that run half-empty, we will run eight services with coaches equally split between men and women. We will run four of these services in the morning and four in the evening during peak-hours.” A total of eight services will be run for the benefit of commuters, said the official.
Commuters like Ashok Kamble (45), a marketing professional who travels from Thane to Vashi, said that the train after the ladies special arrives nearly 10 minutes later, making it very difficult to secure even a fourth seat as there is huge clamour to get into the train when it arrives.
“The ladies special from Thane to Vashi is at 9.14 am after which the next train is at 9.24 am but by then, the platform itself is completely filled with male commuters and people jump into the train as soon as it arrives and it is almost deadly to get into this train. The ladies special goes nearly half-empty so the change is a good thing,” he said.
However, Vasundhara Aiyer (25), who travels from Thane to Nerul said that the decision was not good. “Women will again have to travel in crowded trains. The ladies special was started to give some comfort to us. But I am upset that they are withdrawing the facility,” she said.
The transformation has been part of Central Railway’s (CR) plan to provide more services to commuters and decrease the rush during peak hours after 21-year-old Bhavesh Nakate fell off a train and died on November 27.
Further, the trans-harbour has got 22 new services, which is the highest in any section in CR. Followed by mainline harbour with 11 services and CR mainline with 7 new services. In all, there are 40 new services which are most likely to be introduced on January 26 with the not-so-ladies special on trans-harbour.
MP donates Rs 50 lakh for coach redesign
MP Kirit Somaiya on Saturday has pledged Rs 50 lakh to the CR to tinker around with the design of current local train coaches so as to accommodate more passengers. Mr Somaiya has said it has to be a two-way street with representatives putting their money where their mouth is. “The CR officials said that to redesign one coach they would need `50 lakh and that this money would come after the Railway Budget which happens in February. Hence, by contributing money from the fund, they can start the work immediately,” he said.

I wish it was for real, maybe that way trains could reach ltt faster and panvel would become an important junction that even duronto would stop there.

its actually good.. in case you miss your train at LTT, you can hop onto the local from Tilak Nagar and reach Panvel in time to catch it there. I was able to catch Netravati this way once.

Please do not travel in this train. Not at all clean, safe especially for women passengers and also kids they'll definitely fall ill. A.C is like ewww right from ernakulam!!! A.C is good in trains like kerala sampark kranti, rajdhani than this one. This train back then used to be so clean when we used to board from Nasik. For mumbaikars netravati is so much better than mangala(in all terms) or kerala sampark kranti even much better.

Both times we travelled in 2nd AC it was too bad. Please go for kerala sampark kranti or rajdhani.
