Why is it called a Junction if no line originates from this station? The station picture itself doesn't show this. Is it wrong?

The actual station name is Mohishila. Request the admin to correct the name. It mainly acts as a freight stoppage for goods train that are mainly carrying goods from/to Southern to/from Eastern Railways and wish to bypass the single line between Burnpur and Asansol, thus avoiding heavy traffic.

The correct code is MOH itself. Mohana is a station on the Gwalior Junction - Guna Single Diesel BG line and its station code is MOJ

I will be sure to post the pics of this unknown station when I visit my hometown next time. I am from Asansol and I live in Mohishila Colony very close to the station. There is a single platform with almost no elevation and there are 3 tracks on the station as far as I remember.

I have 3 questions :-
1.) What is the current status of Tarakeshwar Magra proposed railway line?
2.) Does any train ply through the Magra Tribeni Single line Diesel BG route?
3.) Can any body tell me if the Tarakeshwar Bargachia extension has been planned at all or not?

The single unused line branching out from Ikrah Junction was actually the old Andal-Ikrah-Churulia-Rupnarayanpur branch line. It fell into disuse and was scrapped by iron mafias. The new Brarabani Churulia line route that has been planned doesn't follow this old route. One of the greatest poets of Bengal and freedom fighters, Kazi Nazrul Islam was born in Churulia and used to travel to his hometown via this route.

Here's an old map from the website with the new line planned highlighted in green.
Although there is a high doubt that the new government will move forward with the project. Hope is still there :)

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
