i have travelled in this train in august last yr.off late i had a chance to board 12260 sealdah duronto.i'm just trying to make a comparison.those whho are frequent travellers in 12262/12261 can help-
1.food quality is surely better in sealdah duronto.pantry men in 12262 has a lot of catch up work to do.i agree with what a blogger mentioned few days back-mode of serving tea in 12262 in just too bad.they can take a lession out of 12260's book, where they serve hot water in thermosflasks & a tray is provided.for that pantry of 12262 will have to get those small trays & flasks.
2.toilet
...
door passage & wash area is carpeted in 12260.this keeps the coaches clean & dry.has they been in place by now in 12262?anyone who has boarded it off late can help.
3.speed-of course u can't blame 12262 for slower speed.its a matter of tracks.
4.cleanliness-both are equal, 12260 may have a slight edge.
5.punctuality wise 12262/12261 is ahead.but 12260 runs on a more congested route with less slack time.
as i plan to go to mumbai by 12262 next month, can anyone who has travelled in mumbai duronto help regarding these facts?

Howrah-Nagpur and Wardha-Igatpuri have an MPS of 110 kmph. Nagpur-Wardha has an MPS of 120 kmph. This information is from the Working Timetables of various divisions. However, the train's overall running time can be reduced since it has been known to arrive before time and also gets high sectional clearance.

Ever since the Duronto was introduced between Mumbai and Howrah, it had been my earnest desire to travel on this train to determine, for myself, whether Didi's pet trains could recapture the aura of the two Rajdhanis in the 80s. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and was quite impressed with the prompt service, cleanliness, courteous behavior of the staff, and the consistent runs throughout. The only unscheduled halt of the train within a station was Manmad. It skipped stations such as Kharagpur, Chakradharpur, Raurkela, Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Raipur (bypassed using the Urkura-Sanora bypass), Durg, Gondia, Badnera, Akola, Nasik Road, Kalyan. All these have been captured on video! If not for an extended halt at Nagpur outer and at Bhusaval, it would have reached Mumbai before time. What impressed me was that the train maintainined a consistent 80 kmph. average speed (as measured from the...

originating point - Howrah) almost till Bilaspur. Besides catering to end-to-end passengers, the non-stop nature of the train has one more advantage - minimal chance of theft, since movement of passengers at the technical halts is watched carefully. If you consider all Durontos, this particular train has set a new landmark since it is a cool 3 hours faster than the fastest ever achieved between HWH and CSTM before (by the Gitanjali in the 70s and early 80s). My hats off to this train and hoping that its impressive runs are maintained in years to come.

My journey on the Howrah-Mumbai Duronto started off in style! The Poorva Exp. gave us company for nearly 6 minutes before disappearing towards Liluah. Even an EMU participated in the event.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
