My best passenger train journey so far :
Only 2-3 persons per coach , 70 rs for 300 km , . Train run with 75-90 km/h in almost the whole route. Though some time was lost in reversal at pokaran and crossing for ranikhet and janmbhoomi exp.
Had delicious snacks at ramdevra at throwaway price.

the beautiful desert section in broad daylight and was right time through out the route.
At first it looked like this section is so neglected with only one passenger train throughout the day, but then seeing the patronage got the reason.
1. jsm has population has about 80,000 out of which one third migrate to big cities in dry season.
2. patronage of all trains is very less through out the route and out of this too majority are tourists. No tourism in dry season.
That's why it can be safely said that there are some sections in IR which will never ever go electric traction or electronically signalled as it is economically unviable. ( this route has semaphores through out except PLC and mandore-ju section and uses token ring system)

it ll good if this section will remain unelectrified and with semaphores.so that future generations of rail fans can see semaphores.
govt is hunting down semaphores so fast and now semaphores are endangered signals.

We cannot compare the technology that existed at the time of construction of KR and the one during the British era.
I appreciate your thoughts and the facts you presented, and no where I have praised 'angez' for the network. But still, IR has benefitted in terms of the land aquired and shortest distance route between major cities throughout India.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for doubling of Rajpura-Bhatinda railway line at an estimated cost of Rs.1,251.25 crore and expected completion cost of Rs.1,465.59 crore.
The 172.64 km long railway line is expected to be completed in five years.
The present utilization of this section is nearly 100%. Enhancement of capacity of power plants and planned freight terminals will generate additional freight traffic on this route. The doubling will ease the traffic bottlenecks and will bring more revenue to Indian

Railways by capacity enhancement of the route. The districts of Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Bathinda would also be benefitted through this project.
Background:
The Rajpura-Bathinda section falls in Ambala Division of Northern Railway. At present traffic utilization of the section is nearing saturation. This line is strategically important as several military specials are routed on this line connecting the Western border. The main objective for doubling between Rajpura-Bathinda is to remove capacity constraint and to cater for future growth of traffic on the important route of Indian Railways.

railway update report in two months and old link is removed but i keep reports saved in my laptop
i have reports from 2013
that is why I uploaded 31-1-2016 report because after two months old report link in substituted by latest report link. NWR website also follow same procedure

what is the meaning of this FSP sign ???
i asked some loco pilots about these signs but even they didn't know about FSP signs
these white boards are present between distant signal and home signal on both side of station.
and present on both LQ and MACLs equipped stations

one is before NRW Station in between distant signal and home signal.
i haven't seen these signs anywhere else except ROK-JHL-BTI section.
this one was freshly painted thats why FSP is not written on it.all other similar boards are written F.S.P on them vertically

i noticed these signs on DEE RE SDLP RTGH BKN SOG line
signs with two red dot were present before home signal and signs with 3 red vertical dot were present before 2 dot sign
