I have seen 12686 touch 117-118 with LHB between SRR-PGT runs using WAP4, between CLT-SRR has observed peaks around 110-113 using WAP4 as well as WDM3D.
Now started using GPS speed pro allows me to record entire stretch as a gpx file..for analysis later

The Railways has set a target of electrifying 24,400 km of routes by 2022 to drastically decrease the use of diesel for reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The target will be announced by Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu on August 4.
The Indian Railways has chalked out a blueprint to electrify its network over the next ten years that will result in an estimated total savings of Rs 26,400 crore on energy costs, a ministry official said. The energy bill of the public transporter is around Rs 32,000 crore a year, of which diesel accounts for Rs 16,000-18,000 crore.
electrification of major rail routes, the ministry estimates annual saving of the tune of Rs 3,300 crore, the official said. The Railways has set a target of electrifying 24,400 km of routes by 2022 to drastically decrease the use of diesel for reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The target will be announced by Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu on August 4, the ministry official said.
Currently, only about 42 per cent of total rail network is electrified. To fast-track the pace of electrification Railways have joined hands with three PSUs – IRCON, RITES and PGCIL. During the last three years and for 2017-18, a total of 93 railway electrification projects along 16,815 kms have been included in the Budget at an estimated cost of Rs 17,165 crore.

TVC up to MAQ is in SR, so SR has to provide loco from their sheds only. unless of course SR decides that they need a dedicated shed to serve South TN, West coast ED/RPM/AJJ would be doing that work. Another aspect that would be taken into consideration is progress of konkan railway electrification, if that gets executed significantly faster the necessity for a dedicated shed on west coast increases further.

I am saying that if at all in future, Mangalore line starts getting Eloco all trains from TVC,ERS be it Rajdhani,Duronto, will start geting eloco. Now the only electrification part will be left is Mangalore-Verna. Since Roha-Verna section is sanctioned to L&T,then in future all trains will get Eloco of SR unless or otherwise new loco shed is not planned within Kerala, all this train will get Eloco just like Himsagar,Millenium,Swarna Jayanti,Kerala Express, Vivek,Guwahati Express, and much more trains needless to say of ED,RPM,AJJ shed.
Right now what I think is there is some problems in building of TSS at Tirur side.
by 2019, the trains going through this route will get end to end Eloco

Wouldn't comment on projects being undertaken by RVNL,because they are sleeper cells.

Trichy-Mayiladuthurai -Chennai
Pune-Guntakal doubling/electrification
Palanpur-Ajmer is being taken combined by NWR/RVNL

The amount of WAP5 training loco pilots are getting RPM, could as well ask for few WAP5 allocation to run Shatabdi's MAS-SBC, MAS-MYS, MAS-CBE (Not sure about this one though)

Assuming this based on fact that MAS-SBC Shatabadi route is a profitable route if speeded up to a certain extend.. since Chennai-Bangalore flight doesn't provide any time advantage compared to Shatabdi because of distance from Bangalore airport to city centre. Speeded up and marketed the right way this route can take away a lot of passengers from flights.

assuming 1 hr to reach airport for some areas in SBC, 2 hrs prior check in, 40 minutes air time, 30 minutes of exiting airport i guess a train covering both the cities in 4 hours can take some of the air as well as bus passengers.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . -@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries.
