The report, however, clarifies that once the Railway Minister cancelled his public engagements, it came to light that he is unwell and has been resting at home. Interestingly, while Prabhu himself has been silent on the surge pricing, the Railway Ministry has been aggressively tweeting out charts and images to dispel myths about the system. Railways has sent out a series of tweets, clarifying that the move will not affect the common man.
“142 trains out of about 12500 total trains (1.1% only) and 3200 Mall Express trains (4.4% only) run by Indian Railways will be chosen for this experiment. This will affect less than 0.15 million high end passengers out of total 23 million passengers carried by Indian Railways daily. Lower-end passengers are not affected by this experiment,” Railways has said.
Talking about the loss that it is occurring, Railways has said, “While the cost per passenger kilometre on Indian Railways was 73 paise, Indian Railways recovered only 37 paise. As a result of subsidisation of passenger services, Indian Railways bore a loss of Rs 33,490 on coaching services. According to the new “flexi fare system”, the base fare will rise 10% with every 10% of berths, sold subject to a ceiling.

रेलवे ने तत्काल टिकट में बढोत्तरी कर दी है. 24 दिसंबर से बढ़ी हुई कीमतें लागू होगी. रेलवे ने अलग अलग क्लास में लगभग 10 से लेकर 30 प्रतिशत की बढोत्तरी की है. रेलवे से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार द्वितीय श्रेणी में न्यूनतम और सबसे ज्यादा तत्काल शुल्क 10 और 15 रुपये ही बना रहेगा.स्लीपर श्रेणी में न्यूनतम अधिकतम तत्काल प्रभार 90 एवं 175 रुपये की बजाय 100 और 200 रुपये तथा वातानुकूलित कुर्सीयान में 100 एवं रुपये की बजाय 125 और 225 रुपये किया गया है. वातानुकूलित 3 टियर में न्यूनतम एवं अधिकतम तत्काल प्रभार 250 और 350 रुपये की बजाय 300 और 400 रुपये, वातानुकूलित 2 टियर एवं एक्जीक्यूटिव श्रेणियों में यह राशि 300 और 400 रुपये की बजाय 400 और 500 रुपये कर दिया गया है.

कम दूरी के सफर में स्लीपर श्रेणी के लिए 500 किलोमीटर,एसी चेयरकार के लिए 250 किलोमीटर, एसी 3 टियर एवं एसी 2 टियर के लिए 500 किलोमीटर तथा एक्जीक्यूटिव श्रेणी के लिए 250 किलोमीटर है. इससे पहले यह शुल्क न्यूनतम 300 रुपए और अधिकतम 400 रुपए था .

जहां पहले एक्टिक्युटिव क्लास के लिए न्यूनतम तत्काल शुल्क 300 रुपए और अधिकतम तत्काल शुल्क 400 रुपए था, अब उसे बढ़ाकर न्यूनतम 400 रुपए और अधिकतम 500 रुपए कर दिया गया है. बढ़ी हुई कीमतों से आम लोगों के लिए एक बार फिर परेशानी खड़ी हो गयी है. तत्काल टिकट के लिए यात्री पहले ही परेशान है ऐसे में बढ़ी हुई कीमतों का असर भी पड़ेगा

It is very unfortunate to cancel the Sambalpur Yesvantpur train.It is a very popular train for the people of western Odisha particularly. Operation reasons should be rectified and should run the train regularly as a permanent basis.

The East Coast Railways has not yet renewed the weekly special train 08301&08302 ,Sambalpur to Yeshwantpur beyond 25th of Nov.,that means they are cancelling the train. Many passengers of Western Oddisha particularly are benefited by this train. So people of western odisha are demanding the train not as a special but as a regular train. So ECR should think once again and at least run as a special train.
