Today i m going to bust some myths that indian railways is heavily subsidized and all that..I am going to compare the fare of indian semi bullet train Gatimaan with Semi bullet (D class max speed 250 kmph) plying between shanghai and Hangzhou..
The distance between shangai and Hangzhou is almost 160 km and fare varies from 8-9 USD if converted in rupees then it will cost something around 560-630 ₹ while nzm and agc are almost 190 KM apart and mps of gatimaan is just 160 even though its fare varies between in that case how can we say that indian railways is heavily subsided ?

Sealdah - SVDK Katra Hamsafar
Chitpur (Kolkata Terminal) - Yashbantpur Hamsafar train
Chitpur - Dehradoon SF
Shalimar - Raxaul Antodyay
Express via Bhattanagar
Kamakhya - Ernakulam Hamsafar via Bhattanagar Link
I want to opt out Howrah as there are many trains. Doubling of Andul-Bhattanagar-Dankuni will be completed by March'2017

Sealdah is mainly occupied by local and Assam/North Bengal bound trains. Also trains from south have to crawl over the whole Kolkata city to reach upto SDAH which includes crossing the river, same goes for Chitpur also.
Howrah, Santragachi and Shalimar are the most feasible points for South bound trains, however Shalimar is least preferred option for catching a train due to its poor connectivity and Santragachi also has some terminal limitations. Hence railways has no choice but to knock the platforms of HWH.

Howrah is difficult to access from East part & North Part of Kolkata. So Sealdah or Chitpur is best option. South India Bound train may come via Bhattanagar , Rajchandrapur, & Dumdum. Then the train crawl 7 km to Sealdah & 4 km to Chitpur. I think it is no problem to cross Hooghly River via Bally Bridge as speed of this CCR section is 90 km per hour & Andul of SER is not far. Rail is intentionally congest Howrah by excess train. I suggest at least 10 trains should be South India from Sealdah division

To decongest HWH the best solution I believe is to develop SHM in the same lines as ANVT was developed to support NDLS.
SHM has massive space and can easily accommodate 8-9 platforms along with a huge yard. Just the state government has to sort out the connectivity issue.

I suggest no new train at Howrah & Sealdah
New train should be at Chitpur KOAA, Shalimar or Dankuni.
Anew long platform built in Dankuni, substitute of Howrah

Jamalpur - Sealdah Janshatabdi Express would be better tha Jamalpur - Howrah Janshatabdi as huge train demand exist in Sealdah & there are no single Janshatabdi Express in Sealdah Division. Jamalpur - Kolkata Terminal (Chitpur) may be good.

infact the KOAA-SMI weekly express can be extended to RXL as it follows the same TT as that of HWH-RXL bi-weekly...
But the nice thing is to see whether the JS will have PM at HWH or JMP !!!!!

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . -@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
