I had booked three tickets from Kolkata to Bangalore. I will be travelling with my mother. She is a senior citizen and it will be difficult if we have to share a berth for the whole journey of 30+ hours.

Looks like all will end up in RAC. Please suggest what is the best course of action here. What are the chances of confirmation. I will try for Tatkal but I never succeed.
What are the chances of getting full berths after boarding by talking to TTE. I have never started a journey in RAC before.
Please suggest. Flight tickets post Diwali and Chath week are too costly.
