The rake of this train is shared wth pune solapur intercity. There is no cleaning of the rake before it departs as Indrayani to CSTM. Water is also an issue and most bogies run out of water. the toilets are stinking. This used to be a very good train, but pairing this with solapur intercity has really affected the quality of service. I hope there are many of you out there who must have had a similar experience. Please share some of the problems faced by you. Perhaps we can take it up collectively with IR and may be have a dedicated rake for Indrayani service.

Instead of splitting the train and sharing bogies as Mumbai - Pune Indrayani Exp and Pune-Solapu Intercity Exp, Railway should extend Indrayani from Mumbai upto Solapur with increased bogies and with addition Pune quota.

Mumbai Bangalore needs to be connected via Duronto Express. Currently all trains take 24 hrs for this journey. This has to be reduced to 20 hrs. Can something be done about it?

I also agree with your statement. Trains take a lot of time in this section. This is due to a lot of single line tracks in this route. Railways should look at improving the connectivity between Mumbai and Bangalore. Even a Volvo bus takes about 16-18 hrs between Mumbai and Bangalore.

Almost 90% is the strech upto Pune is single line.However some thing can be done and speeded up. when 2163/64 can run the strech from MAS in 23 hrs Udyan can be reduced to 22 hrs.

travel by mumbai-pune-banglore expressway...definately reach within 18 hours..i personally took 14 hours from pune to banglore by maruti 800

But do buses go inside the Mumbai city like train. I heard they stop at places on the outer.
Anyway I think speeding train like udyan by 2 hrs wont solve any purpose as people anyway spend a day travelling. Reaching at 6PM or 8PM wont make a difference unlike if it was a morning time arrival train.

Dear Vaibhav,
Agree with your observations.
Same applies to Pune Bangalore travel also.
Due to inconvenient timings of rail and number of hours,many passengers travel by road.
Indian Railway should do something.

good suggestion. please send your suggestion to IR throught their official website. you could also submit a memorandum to your local station master showing local support for sucha move. Also approach local MPs MLA with the matter.

I somehow see too much of discussion on this train and also abt Pune-HYB Exp. Its obvious that a couple of ppl from Osmanabad/Latur are posting multiple messages on extension of trains, diversion of Solapur trains via Latur, increase in frequency, increase in coaches, request for stops. Just wanted to know that all that are writing is complete waste, since no railway officials are reading these suggestions. This site is only for information exchange, not for making any requests to IR officials. So kind request to ppl putting multiple blogs under CSTM-LUR exp and Pune-HYB exp is do not spend energy here, and do not unnecessarily increase the number of blogs and postings.

Just to add more to what MST Indianrailways has said.. If you want to really see some change in the services in your region kindly try the following
1: Try submit a memorandum to the station master at your local station, indicating support from the masses for the servies you want railways to provide you.
2: Similarly submit a memorandum to the divisional general manager of your railway division.
submit a similar letter of support to the the railway headquarters. (not sure if you are under Central or South Central...
4. Submit letter of support to railway ministry
5. Approach your local MP's MLA's with your demands and ask them to pursue
6. See if you can gather support for your demands from adjoining districts.
7. Also write to other travel organizations of different cities for eg: hyb, pune, mumbai and see what people out there are wanting as far as connection with latur area goes and include those points in your letters. Once you do that they might also support your cause.
8:Form a travel organization for your city/ district and try to approach Railways as an organization rather than an indivisual.
9: please do not make any claims that the time WILL reduce or distance WILL reduce. WILL if replace dby COULD will make the case more effective as you would be expressing potential as against a claim.
10. Get publicity for this work trough local newspapers
11. Please do not hold dharnas in front of other trains and inconvinience other fellow indians just cause you are not getting the train services you desire.
There are more ways of getting the job done but atleast these 11 might help u in some wway and you can come up with more brilliant ideas
There was a guy who talked about doing some "Sangharsh" for better rail services for Latur / UMD. Instead of relentlessly blogging here may be he could think over these points and come up with a better way to achieve enhanced connectivity for the region.
