What's the on-time performance of this train? I have a flight to catch next Thursday from Bangalore at 11 am (plan to board on Wed from Chengannur). So will this train reach on the scheduled time at Bangalore. Please suggest any other trains, if any or even bus services. Thank you and suggestions appreciated!

The right time at blore cant is around 800-15 and generally its late by around 30 mins and so is the case with garib rath as u need to be there by 10 am to catch flight by 11am and morning rush hour traffic. Better opt for cape bangalore island exp which reaches by 700 730 or prefer ksrtc bus frm kottayam or erkm airawat club class get down at shanthinagar bus station there u can get airport volvo vajra service with 15 min interval which take 90 min. These are two options see that in both cases train or bus u arrive by 700 even thouvh u are late by 1 hr you can make it to airport by 10am.

It is too risky to depend on KCVL Garib Raths on time arrival at YPR. You need to take Island Express to have enough time to reach Airport on time

Your flight will reach its destination by the time you reach airport if you catch Garibrath or KCVL-SBC exp. Best bet is to take Island express, get down at KJM and board a cab to airport.. You will be tension free as there will be less delay because of traffic and buffer time will be on the higher side..

I will suggest another option.
Take Kerala Exp from Chengannur to ERS (reaches ERS at 1545). From ERS, board 12683 ERS-SBC SF which will reach SBC by morning 0430. You can go to AC waiting room and freshup yourself. Have breakfast at PF1 restaurant. Cross the road to BMTC bus stn. Every 20 min you have a bus to Airport. Take a bus leaving by 0700-0800 and you will reach airport definitely by 0915-0930 comfortably.
of tickets available in ERS SBC SF.

Boarded the train today and was booked to travel in AC-2 Tier. Ticket was in RAC, which got confirmed when the chart was prepared. To my shock and surprise, the coach designated as AC-2 Tier is in fact an AC-3 Tier coach. Spoke to the TTE and he says that he will issue a lower class certificate. But I prefer to travel in the class I had booked for. Please advice what can be done. Thanks!

Happens sometimes when the said coach is not available due to various technical reasons and no spare 2A coach is available. You can either cancel your journey. You will get full refund or else travel in the 3AC coach get a lower class travel certificate from the TC and file TDR. You will get the complete fare difference between 2AC and 3AC

It is no good. I had to travel on a WL ticket (NDLS-KYJ) on the 15th June, booked at the counter. I even tried logging-in today at 10:00am. Sadly, I was not able to get in till 10:40!!
I had tried it using a 3G Datacard then and also today using a broadband connection..
