Hi!
I just tried booking a ticket using the IRCTC portal and after a painfully long time the message flashed ' SESSION TIMED OUT'
But the amount has been deducted from my account. Under 'Refund status of failed transaction' it says that the 'PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED FROM BANK'
Any idea on how i should proceed? Has anyone else had this experience?

My train leaves at 6 PM tonight and my e-ticket has one confirmed and 2 WL passengers. So we decided to cancel since all 3 cant travel. ( Can all three travel in 2AC even though only one is confirmed?).
I go the irctc site to cancel my ticket and it says "Chart prepared,cant cancel now"
What the hell is that. I mean my tickets were not confirmed right. Shouldnt it be cancelled automatically.?

Really? The whole amount will be refunded is it.That sounds awesome.
Someone told me that it will take 3 months and sometimes they wont refund anything.?

Also, i thought we could all travel on the same berth but the local rail station official here said that is not possible and two will have to travel in general.That is why i decided to cancel the ticket.Man, this is so confusing and frustrating. I am Rs 3000 down, no ticket and stuck.

I sent a mail to irctc and they are asking me to get a receipt of some kind from the TTE confirming about non-travelling passengers. How am i supposed to do this since i dont plan to take this train and therefore not be going to the rail station at all.?
wow thank you. Your post makes a lot of sense and reassures me.I am not planning to travel at all.The entire TICKET is to be CANCELLED.We have just now booked BUS tickets,and have no use with the train ticket. For that what should i do. The train leaves from here at 6PM.

Yeah they replied in 10 mins, but before when i tried calling the customer care number it came " the number does not exist"
Anyway, i filed TDR and under the options available there was no option as "partially reserved"? Any idea why?

hi, thanks for ALL the replies folks.
I have contacted e-tickets care and told them about my predicament and i have also filed for TDR for all 3 tickets. It has been registered but probably will take a while. I am glad there is a forum like this here to dish out advice else i would have been completely lost.Thank you everyone.Will keep you updated!
