Hi, we are a family from NJP to HWH, we have RAC tickets, this tickets would get confirmed for sure, but wanted to know whether the railways allot the tickets in one coach together or it is an automatic process wherein it get thrown anywhere, btw we are travelling on Saraighat Exp 2nd Normal sleeper coach.

Hi, How is the route usually from Howrah/Sealdah to NJP and back, we are travelling for the first time on this route that too in 2nd class sleeper, did not get AC. Please advice. Is it safe in 2nd class sleeper.
Pls advice, since we are travelling to Kolkata first time and my onward train is next day from sealdah, can anyone suggest a good budget hotel to stay for a family. we are 4 adults and 1 child. Hve got one good stay in Salt lake city, but dont know how far is it and how convenient it will be to travel to kolkata city next day for sightseeing.

Thanks Saikat, Getting NIPS service apartment for stay, planning to visit the Science Center, also will plan to go to taste some kolkata sweets at KC das in esplanade. Any suggestions from your end would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the information, since i have a whole day in kolkata what activities should be planned, one i have come up that is visiting science center in near proximity to NIPS. Any other suggestions. How much approximate do they charge for a cab from Howrah to NIPS, NIPS to sealdah station, NIPS to esplanade.

How far is Sealdah Station from Howrah Station, need to board Darjeeling Mail. Is there any metro joining both the stations or please suggest a fastest way to reach, since I would be coming from Mumbai by Duronto by 19:40 and need to reach Sealdah by 21:30 or so as train departs at 22:05. Suggestions pls.

I have booked for Mumbai Howrah Duronto starting on 25 March and reaching on 26 March, want to know how accurate is this train in reaching Howrah. Since I have a connecting train Darjeeling Mail to catch from sealdah on 26th March. I have read in a blog on this site that it had reached once at 22:00. Please help.
