Yesterday travelled in RE from NDLS to Gwalior in E2, with just 20% occupancy after Agra. Today completing the balance leg from Gwalior to Bhopal in coach E1.
Today also around 40% occupancy in the coach.

Runs with 30-40% vacant seats; talks on to discontinue LTT-Madgaon Express
Mumbai: Two of India’s high-speed trains, Tejas Express and Gatimaan Express, do not seem to have become a hit with passengers.
In the last one month, Gatimaan has run at about 30% of its occupancy every day, while Tejas has run at 60-70% since it was launched on May 22.
“Passengers get confirmed
tickets even when they book just a day before the journey. We have been working on this issue since the train was launched,” said a Central Railway official.
Talks are also on to discontinue the double-decker Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Madgaon Express, which runs between Mumbai and Goa, due to its low occupancy.
The Tejas Express occupancy chart shows the train has run with 30-40% vacant seats on most days.
Gatiman Express, the fastest train in India, runs between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantonment covering a distance of 184 kilometres in 100 minutes. It runs at 165 kmph, though it has a top speed of 200 kmph. However, the occupancy of this train has become a sore point for the railway authorities: it runs with 70% vacant seats on weekdays and 20% vacant seats on weekends.
“The main reason for the vacant seats is that there are other trains on the same route which offer cheaper fares. Most passengers are concerned with the fares charged,” said a Northern Railway official.
However, Neeraj Sharma, chief PRO, Northern Railway, told The Hindu: “The train is not running at a loss. There is a seasonal variation in the bookings of Gatimaan Express, and passengers get their berths on demand in this particular train.” The train has 10 coaches, which include eight chair cars with 56 seats each, and two executive chair cars with a 78-seat capacity.
Passengers on the Delhi-Agra section have the option of taking other trains like the Shatabdi Express, which takes 126 minutes, just 26 minutes more than Gatiman. Besides, the fare for a Gatimaan Express chair car is ₹750 and the Shatabdi charges only ₹515. An executive chair car seat on the Gatimaan Express costs ₹1,500, compared ₹1,010. on the Shatabdi Express.
Surendra Kumar, who boarded Gatiman Express in Agra, said he would not travel by this train again, though he likes the services and facilities available. “I travelled by this train for the first time to feel the speed. But the fare is much higher than that of other trains.”

I traveled today from Ratnagiri to Dadar, when alighted at Dadar, i noticed that last 2 coaches were completely in power off mode. My original caoch was C3 in Ratnagiri Quota, the coach had 70% occupancy & my seat was in opposite direction of motion & hence moved to C1 Coach, which has just 10% occupancy. The reason, i booked ticket yesterday night because the timing for Ratnagiri departure was moved from 11.50am to 1.10pm, with same arrival timing, means seeded by mins.
The other important addition is number of movies option moved to 10 including 2 marathi movies. during the 1st week of the travel there were hardly any options

TEJAS at its Best, Departed from Karmali @90 mins delayed & reached Panvel with just 17mins delay, covered Nort Goa to Panvel in flat 5hrs 50Mins time.
12052 Jan Shatabdi left Kudal just 10mins after Tejas but will be reaching Panvel atlist after 75Mins.
This shows, Tejas can do wonders, if given the proper Priority & even gives the Airlines the run for their money.

Sir Tejas gave an avg of flat 89 km/hr between karmali and Roha to cover delay of 1h 29mins but because of this whole down line trains of KR were affected, resulting in delays..
Jan Shatabdi is rightly delayed due to train crossings.

Tejas Chair car fare is equal to or higher than the discounted Airlines fare currently available on Goa Mumbai sector & hence the premium has to be justified by the Priority & the Service otherwise it wont get the much needed load factor, once the hype is over

Dear Sir,
First of all, Tejas (A Premier Train) should not get delayed at any point at any station.
Leaving 90mins late from Karmali and reaching 17mins late at Panvel is not a big thing. Railway must follow the timetable as they are charging accordingly for their different trains. Railway always take superfast charges for superfast trains (increases with coach category from SL to 1AC). Even janshatabdi train have higher fare as compared to other normal mail/express train.
priority to special trains and maintaining timetable is a key task for IR.

Finally done the much awaited trip by Tejas Express, while going traveled in chair Car & returned in Executive Class from Kudal to Dadar. My genuine comments,for both the class of travel
Comments on Chair Car Service.
Seating Arrangements - as usual 3 x 2 but not like the regular Shatabdi one but taller seats with more comforts for passenger. The much hyped entertainment system with just 5 movie options in Bollywood section (Ajab prem ji Gazab Kahani / Anand / Bhagam Bhag / Tahaan ). No gaming options available in
Chair Car LED Screens,
The food offered is terrible on account of Quality & Quantity both.
Served a Cup of Tea with small cake at 6.45am after Panvel. the breakfst was served at 8.15 am, which comprises of Upama / 2 slice of Bread / butter chip let & Real Mix Fruit Juice in Tetra pack. The portion of Upma was also not adequate. There was no Tea / Coffee Service after Break Fast.
Train was delayed by 10mins till Kankavali but halted for 35mins at Kankavali for Mandovi Express & Trivendrum Rajdhani Crossings, which resulted into 45 mins delay till Kudal.
The occupancy was 100% & 10% of the passengers alighted at Ratnagiri & around 60% at Kudal Station. Overall journey was comfortable with nice AC & seats but certainly not the Value for money due to its 40% additional fare over Janashatabdi.
AC Executive Class Service - Paid Rs.2670 for the journey, while the GO Air late evening Flight was also available at Rs.3300 just 2 days back
Seating Arrangements - Seats are like that of Premier class seats of Airlines with adjustable leg rest & wide enough to give you much needed comfort. The LED screens are little bigger than available in Chair Car with Games for children.
Food & Service - The only word is Pathetic, Served a samosa / small pack of cashews & small pack of Good Day Biscuits along with sachet of ready made Coffee from Girnar. The Dinner was served at around 8.00pm & was prepared by Carnival Restaurant in Ratnagiri, It comprises of 3 Chapati / Paneer Gravy / Dal in bowl / 2 pieces of Gulab Jamun & Amul butter Milk
Generally 2 different Sabji served in Executive class of Shatabdi Express but here it is only one that too terrible. Its very Oily & preparation was completely like a Fish Curry but with pieces of Paneer instead of Fish in Malwani Style. The portion of rice was also very small with tasteless dal. No curd & instead Chass was served, which is big no for dinner
I had traveled by almost all the Shatabdis (Mubai - Ahmedabad / Chennai - Banglore / Agra - Jaipur / New Delhi to Chanigadh / Kathgodam / Kanpur ) & mostly by Executive class & i rate this as worst food compare to any of the Shatabdi's mentioned.
I had given my feedback to IRCTC Manager travelling in the coach & he was almost agreed on the same.
Over all, nothing different than Shatabdi & if you carry your own Tab then the extra premium which Railway charges is worthless
The train was on time till Panvel but got deayed by 40 mins till Dadar.
Over All Rating
Seating & AC Quality - 4/5
Food - 1/5
Punctuality - 2/5 ( 40 mins delay on both the occasion)
Much hyped Infotainment - 2/5
The train will be a success for short period due to media hype but hardly find the repeat passengers who will pay the unnecessary premium\
The much published stories of Head Phones stolen by Passenger = These are cheap head phones similar to what you get in Hip N Hope City tour buses of Paris & Amsterdam to hear the Commentary in preferred language but there you will get 100's of the head phones free & here we make hue n cry about passengers taking the head phones

I do agree on that point. making a big tamasha out of stolen headphones?
Also adding to that, the design of the Airconditioned EMU for CR, is all in mess. no proper cooling, no speed control n more lots of fault in the design.
It seems the same with Tejas.... how is it possible for so many people to just snatch out the LED screen? fittings should have been proper... MAKE IN INDIA coaches? the only thing good about it probably is automated doors
