I have got below doubt and request help suggestions.
I have a reserved 2S ticket to travel from SBC to AJJ on May 24, 2014 in Brindavan express.
However, due to change in
travel plan I have to leave Bangalore on May 24, 2014 morning by Lal Bagh Express or Chennai Express instead of Brindavan which leaves at 3:10 p.m. in afternoon.
My questions is
Can I travel on May 24, 2014 from SBC to AJJ in Lal Bagh or Chennai Expresses in general compartment using the Brindavan express ticket?
Or should i follow the procedure of cancel Brindavan ticket and buy a unreserved ticket?

Monday Dec 30, 2013
22625 Chennai Bangalore AC Double Decker Express.
Running late and started late at chennai central by 1 full hour.

It is also learnt that Brindavan is running ahead of the AC double decker and is late at most of the station until Jolarpet.
Any news as to why the double decker started late at chennai central today.

Maye be some technical problem at MAS. faced it often, better to swap the timings of DD and Brindavan, providing atleast1 hr gap to start at the destination on Both Side.

Thank you. It was anticipated.
Latest update is that at Jolarpet, AC double decker train is allowed to run ahead of Brindavan exp.
Now AC double decker is ahead of Brindavan exp
but still running late. Also it is learnt that few passengers of double decker boarded Brindavan at intermediate stations. However, at jolarpet passengers of AC double decker have rejoined, boarded their respective AC double decker coach.
Dont be surprised both AC double decker and Brindavan will be late at all intermediate stations.
Now the interesting question.
Why is that the Indian Railways do this for luxury trains ie they have allowed AC double decker to go ahead of Brindavan exp while it started a full 1 hour late. Now the fate of Brindavan exp and its passengers arrive late at all intermediate station. Why isnt there a clause / rule for such thing in our nation?
Anyhow the train that started a full 1 hour late will reach late at its destination as its a 6 hour journey. By allowing AC double decker go ahead of Brindavan it may make up a little bit of lost time. But still late and causing both train passengers reach late. At least if Brindavan was allowed to run on schedule, the passengers of one train could have reached on time. Now both trains are late.

Sir, DD would anyway have overtaken Brindavan before Kuppam as Brindavan has a scheduled halt there. DD was just about 5 mins behind at JTJ.

From Sep 2, 2013 the train to originate from SBC instead of Yesvantpur.
This is good news to all people travelling up to katpadi.

This tri weekly will change to daily shortly.
This also means it will ease the crowd from lal bagh and chennai exp for people travelling up to Katpadi.
All those who want stop at Kuppam and Jolarpettai Jn will get stop over a period of time but keep up the pressure with authorities.
Good to travel to Tirupathi as the timing is good.
Not sure how many will agree with me.

It might not possible to give stoppages at Kuppam and Jolarpetti Jn. because it might alter the timings and speed of the train. And if it becomes a daily train then we have to see how they will manage TPTY CBE intercity superfast as it have rake sharing... so probably interesting decisions might come out... hope for the best

Train Number: 12609 & 12607
Both super fast trains from Chennai Central to Bangalore city.
My advice to passengers travelling along with wife, kids, ladies or aged females never use this lazy
They never arrive on time to Bangalore City.
The arrival and departure history shown in the web site is full of blunder. Never rely on that information.
Monday July 15, 2013, train 12607 arrived at Bangalore city post 10:20 p.m. yet the arrival departure history shows train late by only 10 minutes.
The super fast defined by Indian Railways is 55 kms average speed. We pay extra for super fast trains as well yet the average speed is less than 55 kms.
There is no justification for super fast charges collected nor anyone makes noise about it.
By the time I got down from the train and reached the BMTC (Kempegowda Bus Stand) it was past 10:40 p.m.
All buses to J.P. Nagar 1st phase had departed and the last bus is at 11:45 p.m. and not sure if it will turn up.
Hence used an alternate route to reach home.
Took Jayanagar east end bus which departed at 11 p.m. and reached 11:30 p.m. to Jayanagar east end.
Took a walk and reached home around 12:15 a.m.
This is the secret of the super fast train service offered by Indian Railways which helps passengers reach home past mid night walking on empty streets.
If you do, then you know you have to rely on the auto rickshaw which will burn your pocket very deep.
I was asked by auto rickshaw people as much as Rs. 300 to Rs. 250 to reach home as it was past 10 p.m.
Since I am living in this city for more than 4 decades, I knew that was not worth.
Was ready to pay Rs. 150 ie one and half times the meter as its under 10 kms from railway station to J.P. Nagar 1st phase.
So had to take BMTC who charged Rs. 17 only.

Feel sorry for you, but Lalbagh has traditionally been a great train between the two southern giants. It does not always happen like that, the delay might have been due to technical reasons and sometimes it is beyond reasoning of a common man. As regards average delay info here on this site, it does not generate the actual delay but just extrapolates from the official website of IR.

I dont agree. Lalbagh is usually always on time. There may be a few exceptional cases beyond our control.

There was no question here to agree or disagree on arrival departure history.
If you see the past 10 day arrival departure history you will have answer to yourself to agree disagree.
and foremost the data is not right and is blamed on for it.
On top of it, its late for 7 days out of 10 days.
Then where is the question of "Lalbagh is usually always on time"
It was only an advice to people travelling along with ladies/old ones not to prefer this train reaching home late as its not safe enough. Otherwise nothing against the lal bagh.

You can get the ticket extended till Chennai on board with TTE providing availability exists..The extension ticket will not be under telescopic benefit.
If you have availability till MAS on DOJ book a fresh ticket and cancel this one.
