This train can be extended to Pathankot which is 109 km from Amritsar. This will ease pressure on Amritsar station which has many trains to maintain and train timings are perfect for extension. Pathankot station has terminal facilities too.
Train can start from Amritsar after loco reversal at 19:30 reach Batala at 20:30, reach Gurdaspur at 21:00 and reach pathankot at 21:45.
In return jorney it can start at 06:00 from Pathankot reach Gurdaspur at 06:30, reach Batala at 07:00 and then reach Amritsar at 08:00 and from there after loco reversal starts...

IMO, write to the concerned divisional manager. This is certainly a good option.

12031 Amritsar Shatabdi
Extend this to Gurgaon.
starts from GGN at 0615 reaches NDLS at 0705 start from there at usual 0720
Delhi earlier had only 3 major terminals(not terminus, but stations from trains originate/terminate)
New Delhi, Hazrat Nizammuddin, Delhi. But for the last couple of years two more terminals are coming up.
ANVT -Anand Vihar Terminus is known to everyone
DEE-Delhi Sarai Rohilla is fast becoming a terminal too.

DEE is also becoming hub for Rake maintenance for many trains which doesnt start from DEE.
Earlier it was Sapt-Kranti Express & Sadbhawna. Now Sapt-Kranti has been shifted with ANVT Base!!
There must be many trains, getting maintained @ DEE!!

Even Hazrat Nizamuddin as a terminal, then only for south-bound trains to begin with was developed in the early seventies. Can any one say which was the first train to originate from/terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin.
So what are the trains left from last budget. How many are yet to introduce.
I know one Tirupati-Madurai not started.
what about other trains ??? Any trains still pending ??

Recently I travelled by Sec'bad-LTT duronto both to and from Sec'bad and Iam highlighting my experience.
This is one of the short overnight Duronto covering about 775 kms in 12 hours.
The train was hauled by a single WDM3A loco # 177664 series from Gooty shed.
