I agree. There should be 2S. Since there is hardly any difference between unreserved Vs 2S, this will move will not have any controversy.

electrification of major rail routes, the ministry estimates annual saving of the tune of Rs 3,300 crore, the official said. The Railways has set a target of electrifying 24,400 km of routes by 2022 to drastically decrease the use of diesel for reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The target will be announced by Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu on August 4, the ministry official said.

May be in some sections where Electrification is going on
Because already Erode,Arakkonam and Royapuram locos are acting as a feeder Locos for Kerala and Karnataka side too, But in future when Chennai-Mumbai is electrified before it starts creating problems they should add more and more Elocos. Alstom will surely come in play by 2018.

I think Raiilway must provide , Battery operated biometric fingerprint scanner to tte so that they mark attendance of passenger traveling ( just like evm which works without internet ) ,As of now neither travaller nor tte can be trusted be trusted blindly corruption can be done by any of them passenger can file wrong TDR or tte can mark fake that passenger has traveled . if implemented then there will be proof if passenger has done journey or not . I feel 1 lakh scanners will be adequate for IR roughly 4 scanners per train .
They refused my TDR of poorva citing passenger traveled .

QR code is only good enough for web URLs and can be shared easily. Only biometrics can be trusted.

We should not use Aadhar database such simple things. The main issue is about manual charts, it is just up to TTE to verify if the passenger boarded the train or not. For a smaller fraction of complaints, we should create trouble for larger %.

Corruption is at peak in railways . Nearly 1000 cases per day . passenger not traveled but tte marked that passenger has traveled . Now how can you justify that you had not traveled .
And it's not that we are using aadhar data . its only when any discrepancy arises then verified from aadhar data . Also biometric of all passenger taken then during it can be stored at terminating/originating station ( all stations are connected with internet now railtel or by google) with respect to date and data will not be huge say hardly 100MB per train and these can be flushed after 3 months i think 10 TB storage will be sufficient for New delhi type station .
...

And it is not possible to tamper because no one will know which finger print is of whom until verified by UID .

Aug 03 2017 (16:26)   IRCTC launches book now, pay later scheme for tatkal tickets: How to use it in 3 steps

People can now pay later for tickets booked under the tatkal quota on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC) website, it was announced on Wednesday.
Till now, this service was available only for general reservations. For tatkal bookings people had to pay first via the standard online payment gateways before the IRCTC portal confirmed their ticket.
For tatkal tickets, IRCTC users will be able to pay via cash, debit card or credit card by opting to have tickets delivered at their doorstep, said IRCTC payment provider Anduril Technologies.
IRCTC

processes 130,000 tatkal transactions daily. A majority of these tickets is booked within minutes of the quota opening.
The new feature eliminates the transaction failures as often the money gets debited and the ticket is not issued due to multiple reasons. The refund cycle is of about seven to 15 days.
Anurag Bajpai, CEO at Anduril Technologies said, “Pay on delivery for tatkal tickets is going to be a huge benefit to for millions of train travelers who need to book under the tatkal quota. The option to book first, pay later will find significant adoption among users. This move by IRCTC also aims to encourage people that buy tickets off the Railway Reservation Counters to move to online medium
How it works?
The customers need to first register with irctc.payondelivery.co.in in order to avail the ‘pay on delivery’ option. They need to tender either Adhaar or PAN details at the time of registration.
1) While booking the ticket on IRCTC portal, the user then needs to choose the ‘pay-on-delivery’ option
2) The digital delivery happens instantly via SMS /email. The collection happens within 24 hours of the booking
3) The customer can also pay online through a payment link that will be sent to them at time of booking
