Hey guys.. I'm a foreigner.. there's probably not too many on this forum.
I have a question though.. I love most Indian food and I eat veg. I have about a 4 hour "stopover" at Howrah (assuming the first train is on time). On the second train there isn't a pantry car. So I'm hoping to use the 4 hours I have at Howrah station to get some lunch and prepare food to bring on the second train.
Can anyone please tell me.. is there a good restaurant inside of near Howrah station
to eat at? I'm just looking for something relatively hygienic.. and preferably something like a thali.. with rice, dhal, vegetables, etc.. and for around 100 rps or less. If you know of a good restaurant nearby that you could recommend.. could you please give me some general directions on how to walk there from the station? I'll be carrying my heavy luggage so I can only walk about 500 meters. I also like some other Indian dishes like palak paneer.. thank you very much in advance! Because I'm going to be on trains for 60+ hours.. I really want to make sure I can get some "real" food during my stopover in Howrah..
One other question.. for the second train.. it says that pantry is not available.. but it also says that catering is available.. What is "catering"? Does that mean you can still order meals on the train.. or....?

hwh has food plaza situated in station premises that serves delicious food including palak paneer. It is situated in eastern railway building. Howrah also has comesum restaurant in south eastern railway building, another wonderful restaurant. Apart from that there is a third restaurant just near rail yatri niwas howrah station and plenty of hotels outside the station, but the ones outside are not hygienic.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
