Unable to book tickets on this through IRCTC. Showing an error relating to VEG/NON_VEG. But there is no place in the reservation details to enter the VEG/NON_VEG option.

Just arrived by this from SDAH on 26th. Travelled by AC3 and almost all people got down at NJP. Had a peek into some of the other coaches and, barring the general coaches, almost all were 80% empty. If this is the case, why extend it till NOQ? A stop at JPE or even at Maynaguri Road would have given the people of this region a great alternative of travelling to Kolkata after finishing the day's work. So..yes, a stoppage at JPE is definitely a must.

The reason is the train has been extended to NOQ only frm 2.10 for which booking was already done 4 moinths before so almost all passengers are already booked upto NJP,very little scope for NOQ/NCB pax to book in an already overcrowded train

Reservation will gain momentum once full quota is applicable from March and there needs to be more allocation of quota for New Coochbehar and New Alipurduar as intended to cater to huge section of nbengal population .NJP has a lot of dedicated trains and accompanied with them huge quota in almost all the trains and specials as well.Stoppage at Jalpaiguri Road can be considered and no more stoppage required.

A distance of 71+ kms by road from Jalpaiguri To Mathbhanga or 50 from NJP to Jalpaiguri and that too in North Bengal is a considerable distance by all means. And how many SF trains to Kolkata does NCB require? Or for that matter even NOQ? A train from Dhubri would probably not be a superfast and would probably take a lot more time and have ridiculous timings for the people of Jalpaiguri. Almost all SF trains originating from Bihar have scores of stoppages between PNBE and MGS. So why not have a few more for this if this will benefit more people? Look at the Northeast Express (JPE stoppage), or SF trains to South India (stoppage at Dhupguri) and the GHY-SBC express (with stoppages both at Dhupguri and JPE) and you would understand what I mean. These too have extra stoppages at these places within 2 hours. And if I...
were to agree to you then I think a stoppage at NCB is not justified simply because it is just around 20kms from NOQ the terminating station.

I guess you have not read my previous posts as I have always maintained that Stoppage at Jalpaiguri Rd for Padatik is required as it is the target poulation the train is going to serve. But not required at NCBD.As far as stoppage at NCB is concerned,it not only caters to its Town but also to surrounding catchment areas in Bamanhat,Tufanganj,Dhubri etc.NCB would always have stoppage even if NOQ doesnt(which is there for Raj and 1-2 other trains). As far as Dhubri train is concerned,Its a huge populated town catering to a lot of Lower Assam passengers, accompanied with passengers of nbengal in TFG,NCB,MHBA,JPE,NJP and who said it would have odd arrival at JPE.DBB train would always have daytime journey in between DBB and NJP as evening departures are not possible due to unavailability of slots.Stoppages will be there in the region it will cater to and will have minimal stoppages en route...
after NJP.

Take today for example. Departure from ALD at 12-20. Reached Subedarganj which is 4 kms from ALD at 12.58. That's more than 30 minutes to cover 4 kms.
Terrible!!!!!!!!. Travelling by this on 22nd March from JPE to ANVT. Will have to experience this ordeal as well. Will definitely file an RTI for this if the same thing happens.

This should be given LHB rake soon. But what can be done about the rotten step motherly treatment it gets between MGS and ALD and ALD and Kanpur Central. Take today for example-it departs 2 minutes late from MGS at 7.22 am and reaches ALD at 14.27 taking 7 hours to travel 153 kms!!!!!
Then from ALD to CNB it takes 4 and a half hours. Why this shoddy treatment? And this is a regular occurrence. Is there no way out from this nightmare for passengers from the Northeast? Even the Purvottar Sampark Kranti gets similar treatment. As long as this kind of treatment is not resolved, providing LHB rake or whatever comfort to passengers are all going to be worthless. Excepting
the Rajdhani all North east trains to Delhi get pretty much the same treatment. Why?

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
