I am travelling by 1AC on 12424 Rajdhani from New Delhi to Dimapur(Nagaland) on 01/12/2012@ 2.00 PM. My Ticket is GNWL 1 & 2. Status did not changed for last 3 Days. I was hopeful of it getting confirmed and didn't book 2AC Tatkal Ticket also. Now i am getting worried about confirmation of my ticket.
what are the chances that it will be confirmed? normally how many GNWL tickets gets confirmed at the time of finalization of Chart in 1AC in this train.

it is already there and has all the 25 predictions for confirmation. but i am worried now coz only 20 hrs are left for chart preparation. i don't think so there would be any cancellations now as there will be 25% deductions on cancellation and if there was any doubtful passenger he would have got his ticket cancelled by now.
what do you say?

1AC have VIPs/HO quota if they are not used they will be released to general public which will be done after chart preparation. So good chances of confirmation are there,if you are in catch 22 situation you can look out for alternatives.

do you have any idea does these VIP seats are normally taken or they mostly go to General WL presently. i have checked 1 Foreign Tourist seat is still available in Quota.
yes i am in catch 22 kind but want to wait if strong chances are there as flight ticket is sky high right now.

Cancellation of Partial Confirmed e-ticket after chart is prepared.
I have 1AC ticket which is in waiting list. It has Two Passengers. I want to wait till chart is prepared and don't want to cancel it.
if suppose one Passenger is confirmed after preparation of chart and other still remain on WL and i decide to cancel the trip and want to cancel both the passengers and don't want to board the train, then what is the procedure for refund and how much charges i have to pay for cancellation of this E-Ticket.

but this is wrong on part of railways to deduct 50% fair. Partial confirmation of ticket should be fair reason not to board the train.

You cancel it before chart preparation and you would get:
General=> Fare Paid - Clerkage Charges - IRCTC Service Charge - Service Tax on Clerkage Charges for both the passengers.
Tatkal=> Same as told in my previous post.

You can cancel a fully waitlisted counter/I ticket even after chart preparation/train departure at the counter. (Upto a prescribed time limit based upon distance factor)
For Online Tickets, a fully waitlisted ticket would be automatically cancelled and you would need to wait for the money to be refunded back to your account.

i am travelling on 1st December, 2012 by 12424 DBRT Rajdhani. My 1st AC tickets are in GNWL 1 & 2. i saw on this sites that in Foreign Traveler quota 1 tkt is available and in high officials Quota 2 tkts are still available. i suppose if these tkts are not booked before preparation of chart, then they will be available for us.
am i correct & should hope that my ticket will be confirmed.

Yes they will be allotted to you, if no other VIP person is there.
In first AC, a VIP is allotted a berth first, then general public.

Cant say.. I am not sure about that. But yes there are high chances of this.
Actually the VIPs generally plan their journey at the 11th hour, so it is possible that they apply just a day before...
Secondly some might get a waiting ticket and then get it confirmed through HO quota afterwards.
There might be applications pending to be processed.
So

well all depends on chances and luck.
But still there are good chances of a confirmed ticket...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries.
