I had asked him several questions which are asked and remained un-answered at IRI many times.

Q.1 – With ref to /blog/post/1489854 ... How the duty will be assigned?
Ans – All the staff will be in train till they didn’t handover the charge to next counterpart. For Example – A train started from VSKP to HWH, but due to what so ever reason train get diverted from VZM towards RGDA-SBP-ROU-KGP-HWH. All the staff will go till KGP, whereas his duty is till KUR only. As KUR staff will not be able to come KGP, Anyone specially will be arrange to take the charge from KGP to HWH.

Q.2 – How long will the TTE wait for a passenger, who has not boarded on his originating station?
Ans – Up to a reasonable time that is up to 60-70 KM of run, or till the next stop(which ever is early).

Q.3 – If a passenger wants to extent his journey on-board, What is the procedure ?
Ans- Passenger have to inform the TTE before reaching destination printed on ticket and TTE will extend his ticket WITHOUT the benefit of TELESCOPIC fare, subject to minimum chargeable distance, like 200 KM in SL class.

Q.4- If a co-passenger of a RAC ticket holder doesn’t turned up, Who will get the preference to confirm (passenger seating as 1st RAC in the coach or passenger whose co-passenger not turned up) ?
Ans- Passenger whose co-passenger not turned up.

Q.5- If less passenger traveled on E ticket, Why TTE is not giving the certificate of less passengers traveled, whereas IRCTC ask the same for getting refund ?
Ans- (after a long silence)… We are not authorized to give such certificate. We can not work as per the instruction of IRCTC. We will work as per guideline set for us and in that, it is not set for us to issue any such certificate.

Q.6- If 2 passengers are booked on same PNR of a PRS ticket. Out of them one wants to get down on an earlier station, What is the procedure ?
Ans – TTE will either issue a certificate printed for such situation and if such certificate is not available with him, he will issue Free EFT ticket in lieu of ORIGINAL PRS ticket. And he can also attest the XEROX of PRS ticket by his sign and seal after making the necessary noting on Chart.

Q.7- If an E Ticket partially confirmed, can all passengers of that E ticket travel ?
Ans- Yes! If a single passenger is confirmed and other remains in WL, The name of those WL passengers will be there in chart and they can travel with that accommodation only.

Q.8- How much penalty is there if a 2ND class General ticket holder travels in SL class ?
Ans- If accommodation is available, there will not be any penalty. Only Difference of fare will be charged but if Accommodation is not available than Difference of fare + penalty of Rs 250/- will be charge to convert the ticket to SL class.

I booked a ticket for 5 passengers and applied for HO..
SR official were kind but not so kind. They honored my request and allotted one berth by HO, as it was highly impossible for us to undertake journey with one patient to travel in one berth, so we decided to cancel it b4 chart preparation as nit was an e-ticket....

it was in my that it will deduct 50% of fare for confirm passenger as it was less than 4 hrs to train depart but it deducted only Rs 20/- per head. So against a ticket of 3005/- , i got a refund of Rs 2895/- (Rs 10/- IRCTC service Charge)
I had cross checked with railway official about this and they said - "An e ticket partially confirmed by HO, cancelled before chart preparation will effect only Rs 20/- per head, whereas a PRS ticket will give same till schedule departure of train i.e. Rs 20/- per head, if it got partially confirm by HO."

Hope this information will help others also.

By going thru Railway Budget and several blogs here, i had found that most of the people are unhappy with this budget, including me.
