Dear Admins/Members. We are a group of 75 students of Pondicherry Univeristy. We are going on a tour to North India ( Himachal, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan) from Nov 24 to Dec 9. We have made our itinerary. We request the admins/ members from North India who have sound knowledge in Himachal Pradesh to go through this itinerary and tell us whether this itinerary (especially in Himachal) is workable. If not please give us some suggestions regarding the destinations.

Day 1:- Pondicherry-Chennai

from Pondicherry University at 16.30 hours by bus to Chennai Central to board the 12621 Tamilnadu Superfast Express to New Delhi at 22.00 hours.
Day 2:- Train journey
Journey in Tamilnadu SF Express.
Day 3:- Delhi sightseeing
Arrive New Delhi Railway station at 07.00 hours. Transfer to hotel, check in. Proceed for full day sightseeing of Delhi. Drop at Nizamuddin Railway Station at 18.00 hours to board 12903 Golden Temple Superfast Mail to Amritsar at 19.05 hours. Overnight in train.
Places covered:- Qutab Minar, Bahai Temple, India gate, Birla Mandir. Take a ride in Metro.
Day 4:- Delhi-Amritsar-Wagah Border
Arrive Amritsar by 05.45 hours. Check in hotel and fresh up. Proceed for full day sightseeing of Amritsar. Visit Jallianwala Bagh, Golden Temple and Durgaina Temple. Evening by 15.00 hours proceed for closing ceremony at Wagah border. Back to Amritsar by 20.00 hours. Overnight at Amritsar.
Day 5:- Amritsar-Dharamsala
Early morning at 06.00 hours check out from hotel and proceed to Pathankot Railway Station by road. Board chartered Toy train to Kangra at 08.50 hours, from where you will be transferred to Dharamsala by road. Reach Dharamsala in the evening. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Dharamsala.
Same day visit: Brajeshwari temple in Kangra, Jawala Jee Temple. Evening visit St.John;s Church. Overnight stay at Mcleodganj.
Day 6: - Dharamshala
Full day sightseeing of Dharamsala.
Same day we will explore:- Mcleodganj, Bhagsunag, Tibetan Markets, Naddi, Bhagsunag Temple and Waterfall, Tibetan Monastery, Dal Lake and Noubulinga. Overnight in Dharamsala.
Day 7:- Dharamsala-Dalhousie
Morning proceed for sightseeing of Dharamsala. Visit the places missed out earlier. Then depart to Dalhousie by road. Reach Dlahousie by late afternoon/ evening. Proceed for shopping on Mall Road. Overnight at Dalhousie.
Day 8: - Dalhousie Khajjiar Chamba
After Breakfast we shall depart for Khajjiar known as Mini Switzerland of India, on the way to Khajjiar we shall stop at Kalatop (A Nature walk suggestive here from Kalatop toll Bridge to Kalatop Rest House) and thereafter to Khajjiar and thereafter towards Chamba and after full day excursion shall back to Dalhousie for the overnight stay.
Activities at Khajjiar: - Horse riding, Zorbing, Nature walks suggestive here in betweens the trees, must visit to the KHAJJI NAGA TEMPLE there.
Chamba Activities: - visit the famous Laxmi Narayan Temple (Ancient and Historical Temple) and the Chamunda Temple (famous for its ancient wooden carving) both are the sidh piths of Chamba and Museum.
Day 9: - Dalhousie
Proceed for full day sightseeing of Dalhousie. Overnight at Dalhousie.
Activities same day at Dalhousie: - local sightseeing of Dalhousie, Jandhrighat Palace, Subhash Bowli, Bara Pathar, Panjphulla, Subhash Chownk, GPO Dalhousie, Satdhara and the last but not least Old Churches of Dalhousie, Must eat Gulab Jamun at Café Dalhousie, Walk from GPO to Subhash Chownk through Thandi Sarak, also visit to D C Khanna Grocery shop. Dain Kund, Bakrota Hills
Day 10: - Dalhousie Amritsar
Early morning by 06.00 hours check out the Hotel and start journey by road to Amritsar. Arrive Amritsar by 13.00 hours to board 19612 Amritsar-Ajmer Express to Alwar at 14.30 hours. Overnight in train.
Day 11:- Alwar-Jodhpur
Arrive Alwar at 04.37 hours. Transfer to hotel. Check in and fresh up. Morning proceed for Bhangarh fort. Later visit Bala Quila, City Palace and Siliserh lake (if time permits). At 20.55 hours board 14659 Malani Express to Jodhpur. Overnight in train.
Day 12:- Jodhpur
Arrive Jodhpur by 05.05 hours. Check in and fresh up. Proceed for full day sightseeing of Jodhpur. Evening depart to Ossian for Desert Safari. Enjoy Desert safari in the evening. Overnight enjoy desert camping.
Places of Visit: - Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhavan Palace, Mandor, Ossian or Bishnoi (for safari), Balasammand Lake and Palace.
Day 13:- Jodhpur-Agra
Early morning check out from camp. Visit few temples of Ossian. Then proceed to Jodhpur by road. Visit the places left on the previous day. At 20.30 hours board 12308 Jodhpur-Howrah Superfast Express to Agra Cantonment. Overnight in train.
Day 14:- Agra-Fatehpur Sikri
Arrive Agra Fort Railway Station at 05.50 hours. Transfer to hotel, check in and fresh up. Proceed for full day sightseeing of Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. At 21.50 hours board 12616 Grand Trunk Superfast Express to Chennai Central.
Day 15:- Train journey
Journey in Grand Trunk SF Express.
Day 16:- Chennai-Pondicherry
Arrive Chennai Central by 06.15 hours. Transfer to Pondicherry by road.
