Current status on my ticket shows CNF, earlier it was in RAC 27. It seems like the ticket got confirmed, but why there is not seat allotment?

Current status of my ticket shows RAC 64 to RAC 69 for 6 passengers. Would it get confirmed by 5th April? or should I book the tickets in tatkal?

Can I board the train from any station on the way? I stay in Shomoga and I have reserved 6 tickets from Udupi to Thane. To board the train I would have to go to Udupi, but it seems like it either Honnavar or Kumta would be easier to reach and board the train. Also it would save my 2 hours.
