I've booked a ticket for today in this train from Katihar to New Delhi... Current pnr status shows confirm ticket.... And displaying chart not prepared.... Can somebody tell me when chart will be prepared for Katihar station and today's train departure is 16.25....

का प्रयोग करते हुए ट्रेन को रोक दिया। ट्रेन के रुकते ही युवक ने अपनी जेब से मोबाइल निकाला और राजधानी एक्सप्रेस के साथ सेल्फी लेकर मौके से भाग गया। वहीं चालक ने फिर भी किसी खतरे को भांपते हुए मुख्य नियंत्रण कक्ष को अगवत कराया।
राजधानी के रोके जाने से रेल प्रशासन में हड़कंप मच गया। तत्काल पोरा स्टेशन से टीम को भेजा गया। इसके साथ ही रेल चालक ने इंजन से उतर कर आगे चलकर ट्रैक को चेक किया और उसके बाद कोचों के चक्कों भी देखा कि कहीं चक्कों से चिंगारी तो नहीं उठ रही, परंतु चालक को ऐसा कुछ नहीं मिला। इस बीच पहुंचे रेल कर्मियों व आरपीएफ ने भी ट्रैक का बारीकी से निरीक्षण किया। सबकुछ ठीकठाक मिलने के बाद ही गाड़ी को रवाना किया। इन सब में करीब 35 मिनट तक राजधानी ट्रैक पर खड़ी रही। इसके चलते गरीब रथ एक्सप्रेस सहित आधा दर्जन ट्रेनें प्रभावित रहीं।

A month and a half after more than 140 passengers died in a train mishap near Kanpur, the Ajmer-Sealdah Express derailed in the same district on Wednesday morning, causing injuries to over 60 passengers.
Accidents and train derailments are reported routinely on this route.
From 2003 to 2015, 239 accidents have happened on the network of the Indian Railways and 208 of these -- or 80% of all accidents -- have happened because of derailments, says the parliamentary standing committee report presented last month.
are mostly caused by "rail fractures" during extreme summer and foggy winter conditions on account of the expansion or contraction of tracks.
"While technology and funding issues are there, the big problem is that adequate time to carry out routine maintenance of tracks is never available as loco pilots (train drivers) are under stress to run more trains in lesser time," Sanjay Pandhi of the Indian Railways Loco Running Men Organisation (IRLRO) said.
Kanpur is located in between the busiest track of the Indian Railways on the Delhi-Howrah route, which has a train departing from the originating station after a gap of every 9 minutes.
Progress on track renewal and signalling upgrade plans have been slow. Against the requirement of constructing 5,000 kilometers of new lines each year, a target of only 2,700 kilometres has been set in this year's budget.
A contract to install automatic block signalling devices on the Kanpur-Allahabad route was awarded nearly two years back, but implementation work has not yet begun.
Ultrasonic flaw detection devices available in the inventory of the Indian Railways are capable of "vertical verification" and can detect cracks or rail fractures along the vertical length of tracks, but cannot undertake "horizontal checks".
Sources said that plans to acquire newer models of these ultrasonic devices that can do both vertical and horizontal checks have remained in cold storage.
Facing a severe financial crunch, the railways in past years have been unable to spare adequate funds for safety works. It moved a proposal earlier this year proposing the creation of a safety corpus of Rs 1,01,700 crore.
The finance ministry suggested that only 30% of the amount could be provided by way of a grant, while asking the railways to raise the remaining 70% by way of passenger ticket surcharge and other means.

Because we want to see our nation in the league of developed nations......Isn't it quite ironical one side we are striving for bullet trains and other side lots of people are dying due to the progressive state of affairs in our country.... One thing is quite certain.... Who cares about common people..... They will always be treated as insects in our f***ed up country. Only people with high income who can board these bullet trains have right to live a prosperous life.....

The Bullet train is completely based on self financing model. The loan will be repayed from the revenue generated from bullet trains itself and it will have no kind of effect on rest of the IR affairs. However, there are a number of noticeable things. Mr Prabhu and his team has been highlighted as the ones with a different and better approach towards development of IR. But what bugs me is that why the decision to stop manufacturing of ICF coach was taken so late given that there have been accidents in the past, one of which included Rajdhani Express.
While it has been highlighted that the present fare system of Indian Railways is subsidized and less than that of other countries
and it should be increased, other factors like safety, punctuality and facilities on similar lines are ignored. And everytime what is suggested is " to raise the remaining 70% by way of passenger ticket surcharge and other means."
This has been a critical case of our country I guess. Irrespective of whether politicians are there to improve or degrade the Railways system, there is one who will always suffer and they are the common people.

Self financing model seems quite viable...Why not try this model for the upgradation of existing railway networks... Gather funds....start work.... And collect the input cost from ignoring the political aspect... Like huge outcry by opposition parties.... Agar logon ko kaam dikha to wo Definitely pay karenge.... It's the high time becausey We already have a right minded rail minister..

Dear friend, I find many persons which take a shot at loans taken for Bullet Train with an agrument that it should be better spent on the already crumbling IR network. They are 100% right that India very badly needs investment in augmenting/modernising existing network at a priority higher than Bullet trains.
One thing they either don't know or they forget is, that the loan offered by Japan for bullet trains is almost interest free, at a token interest rate of 0.1% p.a., which has to be paid in 50 years and
no payment needed for first 15 years! Japan is giving this extremely and unbelievably generous loan as a goodwill gesture to its friendly nation and most importantly to compete with its biggest enemy and competitor China. This generous loan is not available for upgradation of existing IR network.
IR is performing badly due to mismanagement/governance, it does not mean that India should not go for high end railway technology. If India can become top player in a very hightech arena of Nuclear Technology, Space technology and missile technology then why it cannot become a leader in HST and Maglev technology? The present govt intend India to be so. Recent international seminar on HST technologies conducted in India shows seriousness of govt towards this motive. One necessary requirement for success of BT is, that it should be managed in the way Japan does it and not the IR way. If personnel for HST are recruited through outdated UPSC route, it shall spell disaster. Even corporations like KR, Delhi Metro are better managed than IR in-spite of govt interference. I think IR too should also be converted into such a corporation to minimise political interference.
Bullet train is estimated to give a decent financial rate of return of 12% and is intended to attract most of its passengers from airlines and cars/buses, as bullet trains are are environmentally and logistically superior than these options. HST is not intended to attract paxs from conventional IR trains. They are supposed to give a big boost to the economic activities of the served cities and hence the prosperity of people and more taxes/ revenue to govt. Last govt have announced Bullet trains several times in budgets but could not implement it. When this govt has done it by through excellent diplomacy, and commitment for the development of nation, they are opposing this project tooth and nail. And when this project shall be successfully completed, then habitually they will claim that is our project, public must not go by words of politicians who have slippery tongue but interpret them with their intentions and actions.
For remaining network, the investment is being arranged from separate costly loans which are available at very high interest rates. RM has substantially stepped up the investment in existing network which is more than double than the investment done by UPA RMs. The best part of the investment in IR today is that major part of investment is going in doubling of saturated main lines (highly profitable to IR), unlike during tenures of other RMs which invariably were wasting the precious IR resources to build new rail lines (mostly financially bleeding) in their home states or constituencies for personal political gains.
Had the policy and pattern of investment being followed by current RM been followed by all the RMs since independence, almost all the main lines would have been with 4 tracks with a corridor each for freight & express trains and operating ratio nearing 80 instead of around 95 and avg speed 75kmph of SF trains and 50kmph of freight trains. The number of accidents happening in IR too would have been much lesser than present.
