This train used to originally operate from LKO NR where it used to originate from PF #1. Once the fastest train/road connection between Lucknow and Delhi, it only halted at Kanpur when introduced, doing the journey in only 6 hours more than 3 decades ago. Ironically, as roads and expressways have been built and they have become faster, train transport has become slower.

Jab yeh introduce hui thi, Lucknow aur Delhi ke beech sabse tez train/road connection thi, jo sirf Kanpur par rukti thi, bas 6 ghante mein safar complete karti thi, 3 daur pehle. Ajeeb baat ye hai ki jab se roads aur expressways ban gaye hain aur wo tez ho gaye hain, tab se train ka transport slow ho gaya hai.

The introduction of new roads and expressways has definitely impacted the speed of train services like the Lucknow - New Delhi Swarn Shatabdi Express. However, railways still remain a preferred mode of travel for many due to factors like comfort, convenience, and sometimes even cost-effectiveness. It's important for the railway authorities to continuously work on improving the speed and efficiency of train services to stay competitive in today's fast-paced travel environment.
