The first train on Monday reached the Halt Station at 5.50 am, an hour and five minutes after departure from the K S R Station

Bengaluru Railway Station exactly at 4.45 am. Member of Parliament, P C Mohan, railway officials, rail activists and mediapersons were among the first passengers to take the maiden train trip to the airport.
For rail activists campaigning for this critical rail link for years, the Monday morning trip was the culmination of a long, tiring struggle. The train connectivity will now be available for thousands of airport workers and passengers for as cheap as Rs 10 per ticket.
“A small step by Railways but a giant leap in Bengaluru Airport connectivity to the main city. Congratulations BIAL,” tweeted the Divisional Railway Manager, SWR. The Halt Station was built by the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). BIAL has also arranged the shuttle bus services between the station and the terminals free-of-cost.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, "This will go a long way in enhancing last-mile connectivity to Bengaluru airport, (it will) benefit lakhs of people and reduce the traffic congestion drastically.”
Available on all days except Sundays, the trains on the airport line will cost Rs 10 for commuters boarding from Yeshwanthpur and Rs 15 for those boarding at the Cantonment Station. Airport-bound passengers and workers could take the Metro and hop on to the airport trains at Yeshwanthpur, K S R Station or at Baiyappanahalli Metro Terminal.
Five pairs of trains have commenced operations with a one-minute stoppage at the KIA Halt Station. Two of these are from K S R Bengaluru Station, one from Yelahanka and two from Yeshwanthpur. The number and frequency of trains could increase once the Railways and BIAL comes to an understanding on the peak hour traffic of arrivals and departures.
The first train on Monday reached the Halt Station at 5.50 am, an hour and five minutes after departure from the K S R Station. However, the journey time is expected to drastically reduce once the line is doubled or a crossing station comes up at Doddajala.
Although air passengers will not find immediate benefit due to the low frequency, many taking early morning flights are likely to switch to the airport train. The price tag of Rs 10 to Rs 15 is a massive saving compared to the Rs 250 to Rs 300 for the Vayu Vajra bus service and Rs 800 to 1,200 taxi fares.

I think there is a line capacity issue and terminal constraints and hence no of services are kept at 5 in each direction.

If it gathers interest amongst passengers then SWR will work on increasing the same...

KRCL blocks the new train from Bengaluru to GoaKonkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL), headquartered in Navi Mumbai, appears to have blocked the introduction of a new train to Goa from Bengaluru. Although the much-awaited train service to the popular holiday destination via coastal Karnataka was announced three weeks ago, the South Western Railway (SWR) has been unable to run the service.
Sources in the SWR said the Railway Board has instructed the officials to put the new service on hold. “As the new service passes via three railway zones, the railway board had conducted a joint-meeting of officials from different zones. Later, the Board instructed us to keep the service on hold,” a senior SWR official said.

non-introduction of service -- train number 06587/06588 -- is likely to embarrass both Suresh Angadi, Minister of State for Railways and former minister Shobha Karandlaje who had officially announced the new train between Yeshwantpur and Vaso-da-Gama, earlier this month. Many commuters were extremely happy as the train timings were convenient both for Bengalureans and residents of coastal Karnataka.
Several associations including Karnataka Railway Vedike, Rail Prayanikara Hitharakshana Samithi and Kukke Shree Subramanya - Mangalore Railway Commuters Forum have urged the Railway Board to run the train. Some also wondered if KRCL is more powerful than minister Suresh Angadi.
“It’s high time the KRCL is bifurcated and the portion of railway line that falls in Karnataka is brought under South Western Railway. The coastal Karnataka has been waiting for a train service with convenient timings for the last thirteen years. It’s unfortunate that one zone is blocking the service that would have benefitted hundreds of people,” said Krishna Prasad, a retired government employee.

I am placing my views here from what I have observed... I may be corrected if required :
There are already lots of traffic to be manageable on a single track... If SWR is complaining for just one service that KRCL blocked owing to lack of running path then question surely needs to be raised on SWR politics.

is with SWR and How many outstation trains actually connect Vasco Da Gama, other than a few weeklies belonging and travelling to KA, in SWR, it just has a daily train to Delhi, one weekly to Patna that's it. Goans have long since been demanding many trains especially restoring those trains running in MG era, a daily intercity to Belgavi, Hubbali, a couple more passenger/DEMU services between Vasco and Kulem but each and every demand of Vascoites are being shot down by SWR citing operational constraints and guess what do they do with slots... Run more and more freights, use revenue from Mormugao Port in Goa and use these in Karnataka.

Why they have even declined offer to start Madgaon terminating running trains till Vasco Da Gama. For eg Extension of Mangaluru Madgaon Intercity till Vasco was declined by SWR. Just ask native Goans esp those who unfortunately fall in SWR stretch between Vasco and Kulem how desperately they need more services and how their demands are left unfulfilled and you will certainly feel that what KRCL has done is correct. Even with whole load of traffic in single line it's difficult to manage a new train add to it numerous festive specials.

Further we can also discuss how bus lobby rules SWR and how they do not permit running a daily Superfast over night train from Bangalore to Pune and Mumbai and that Over night slot is used by Bus lobbies. SWR is pro bus lobby and it's bus arm KSRTC has vested interest and that is reason you do not seen Superfast high speed trains between Mumbai Bengaluru.
To sum up: The same day this news came which proved SWR just wants to run freights :

"Due to increase in freight movement which causing congestion in Belagavi – Miraj Section and passengers trains are running late. To ease the movement and ensure punctual running of Mail/Express trains the following passenger trains will be cancelled as detailed below: -
1. Train No. 51405 Miraj - Castle Rock Passenger commencing journey from Miraj o­n 28.02.2020 & 29.02.2020 will be cancelled.
2. Train No. 51406 Castle Rock - Miraj Passenger commencing journey from Castle Rock o­n 29.02.2020 & 01.03.2020 will be cancelled.
3. Train No. 51431/ 51432 Miraj – Londa – Miraj Passenger commencing journey from both sides o­n 28.02.2020, 29.02.2020 & 01.03.2020 will be cancelled."

So unless one cannot change their own ways, one cannot point others...

The frequency of the train will be increased to 5 days for a period of 6 months from 08.11.2019 to 06.05.2020 for the train starting from Yesvantpur and from 10.11.2019 to 05.05.2020 for the train starting from Vasco da Gama as detailed below:-

Train No.07309 /07310 Yesvantpur – Vasco da Gama – Yesvantpur 5-Days-a-Week Tatkal Special Express: -

Train No.07309 Yesvantpur – Vasco da Gama 5-Days-a-week Tatkal Special Express departs from Yesvantpur at 14:30 hrs and reaches Vasco da Gama at 06:00 hrs the next day. The train will have services o­n Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (No service o­n Tuesday and Sunday).

En route the train will have stoppages at Tumakuru – 15:28/15:30 hrs, Tipatur – 16:28/16:30 hrs, Arsikere – 16:55/17:00 hrs, Birur – 17:43/17:45 hrs, Davanagere – 19:28/19:30 hrs, Harihara – 19:48/19:50 hrs, Ranibennur – 20:19/20:20 hrs, Haveri – 20:49/20:50 hrs, Hubballi – 23:40/23:50 hrs, Dharwad – 00:13/00:15 hrs, Alnavar – 00:49/00:50 hrs, Londa – 01:33/01:35 hrs, Castlerock – 02:20/02:30 hrs, Kulem – 04:10/04:15 hrs, Sanverdam – 04:38/04:40 hrs and Madgaon – 05:15/05:30 hrs.

Consequent upon the merging, extending and increase in frequency of Train No.16577 /16578 and running as Train No.07309 /07310 Yesvantpur- Vasco da Gama – Yesvantpur Tatkal Special Express: -

Train No.06948 Huballi – Vasco da Gama Express will be cancelled with effect from 09.11.2019 (eliminating slip coaches by Train No.11048 Hubballi – Miraj Link Express / 12780 Hazrath Nizamuddin – Vasco da Gama Goa Express)

Train No.02779 Vasco da Gama – KSR Bengaluru Express will be cancelled with effect from 09.11.2019 (eliminating Slip coaches by Train Nos.12779 Vasco da Gama – H. Nizamuddin Goa Express/16590 Kolhapur – KSR Bengaluru Rani Chennamma Express).

The slip coaches from KSR Bengaluru – Hubballi by Train No. 16589 KSR Bengaluru – Kolhapur – KSR Bengaluru will be cancelled with effect from 08.11.2019
and the composition of Train No.16589/16590 KSR Bengaluru – Kolhapur – KSR Bengaluru Rani Chennamma Express will be revised with effect from 08.11.2019 to 06.05.2019 from KSR Bengaluru and from 09.11.2019 to 07.05.2020 from Kolhapur duly augmented temporarily with ONEAC 3-tier Coach, ONE Second Class Sleeper Coach and ONE General Second Class coach . The revised composition of this train is ONE First AC Coach, ONE AC 2-tier Coach, THREEAC 3-tier Coaches, TEN Second Class Sleeper Coaches, FIVE General Second Class coaches and TWO Second Class Luggage cum Brake-vans with differently abled friendly compartments (Total: 22 coaches).

REVISION IN TIMINGS OF TRAINS

I. The timings of Train No. 17316 Velankanni – Vasco da Gama Weekly Express will be revised(Speeding up between Krishnarajapurm - Vasco da Gama) without touching Yesvantpur Station i.e. run through Yesvantpur By-pass duly providing stoppage at Chikbanavar with effect commencing journey from Velankanni from 12.11.2019 o­nwards as detailed below:-

Train No. 17316 Velankanni – Vasco da Gama Weekly Express will depart Velankanni at 23:45 hrs o­n every Tuesday and arrive Vasco da Gama at 05:15 hrs o­n Thursday.

There is no change in timings between Velankanni - Krishnarajapurm. After Krishnarajapurm this train will arrive/depart Banaswadi – 11:23/11:25 hrs, Chikbanavar – 11:50/11:52 hrs, Tumakuru – 13:08/13:10 hrs, Tipatur – 14:10/14:11 hrs, Arsikere – 14:45/14:50 hrs, Birur – 15:33/15:35 hrs, Davanagere – 17:18/17:20 hrs, Ranibennur – 18:03/18:05 hrs, Haveri – 19:00/19:02 hrs, Hubballi – 20:45/21:00 hrs, Dharwad – 21:55/21:57 hrs, Londa – 23:25/23:27 hrs, Castlerock – 01:25/01:35 hrs, Kulem – 02:50/02:55 hrs, Sanverdam – 03:25/03:26 hrs and Madgaon – 04:15/04:20 hrs.

II. Train No. 17315 Vasco da Gama – Velankanni Weekly Express will run without touching Yesvantpur Station i.e. run through Yesvantpur By-pass duly providing stoppage at Chikbanavar with effect commencing journey from Vasco da Gama from 11.11.2019 o­nwards. Accordingly this train will arrive/depart Chikbanavar – 22:40/22:42 hrs and Banaswadi – 23:10/23:12 hrs. There will no change in timings of other stopping stations.

III. The timings of Train No. 17419/17021 Tirupati/Hyderabad - Vasco da Gama Weekly Express will be revised between Munirabad - Vasco da Gama duly speeding up between these stations as detailed below:-

There is no change in timings of this train between Tirupati/Hyderabad – Hosapete. After Hosapete this train will arrive/depart Munirabad – 20:34/20:35 hrs, Koppal – 20:58/21:00 hrs, Gadag – 21:44/ 21:46 hrs, Annigeri – 22:10/22:11 hrs, Hubballi – 22:50/23:00 hrs, Dharwad – 23:25/23:27 hrs, Alnavar – 00:02/00:03 hrs, Londa – 00:35/00:37 hrs, Castlerock – 01:25/01:35 hrs, Kulem – 02:50/02:55 hrs, Sanverdam – 03:25/03:26 hrs and Madgaon – 04:15/04:20 hrs.

IV. There will be no change in timings of Train No. 17420/17022 Vasco da Gama - Tirupati/Hyderabad Weekly Express.

Union Minister of State for Railway Rajen Gohain has said the Kerala government had been “advised to seek specific approval” from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to carry out a survey for the Thalassery-Mysuru railway line.

Mr. Ramachandran said the Minister had said earlier that Kerala had requested the Railway Ministry to move the MoEFCC for granting clearance to conduct a detailed survey in the forest area for preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed new line.
Objections
The Chief Minister’s Office had pushed for the proposed Thalassery-Mysuru railway project in spite of the objections raised by the Department of Forests and Wildlife over serious ecological and social issues. The proposed line passes through the forest belts of Kannavam and Periya which are rich repositories of biological diversity and chunks of tropical evergreen forests.
The rail distance between Thalassery and Mysuru has been worked out to be 206.51 km, of which the actual construction length will be 190.22 km. The project passes through the 49-km stretch in the forests of Kerala region and through 35 km of ecological sensitive zones, including 11 km of the Nagerhole National Park in Karnataka.
Mr. Gohain said both Karnataka and Kerala had evinced interest in the project. However, no details for cost sharing pattern had been worked out.
However, he said that the proposed project was found unviable as per the feasibility report prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, entrusted by the Kerala government for preparation of the DPR of the proposed project.
The Minister said no final decision had been taken on the project. But Kerala Rail Development Corporation Limited, a joint venture company formed by State government with Ministry of Railways, had approved to take up this line.
