Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared beautiful pictures of Karnataka's Hubballi Junction railway station which is currently getting a makeover.
Taking to Twitter, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared beautiful pictures of Karnataka's Hubballi Junction railway station which is currently getting a makeover. Soon, the Hubbali railway station will be transformed into the world's longest railway platform. The railway division of South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways has undertaken the task of enhancing the infrastructure as well as the amenities of the Hubballi Junction station.

sharing the pictures of the railway station, Piyush Goyal said that it is 'providing a delightful experience to passengers due to all the facilities it provides along with the cleanliness. He further added Hubballi station is 'a class apart'. In an earlier tweet, Bengaluru MP PC Mohan had informed that the South Western Railway zone will be increasing the length of the Hubballi Junction platform from 550 meters to about 1,505 meters. The remodelling of the platform is being done at the cost of Rs. 90 crore and it is expected to be completed by January 2021, informed PC Mohan.
According to media reports, the Ministry had earlier decided to increase the length of the platform to about 1,400 meters but later decided to push it to 1,505 meters. Media reports also suggest that Hubballi railway station will also have additional new platforms as part of this project along with some more exit and entry gates. Reports further add that Hubballi yard is also being remodelled. The delay in the projected is reportedly due to the lack of labourers amid the COVID-19 lockdown. Hubballi Junction railway station is Karnataka's busiest railway station after Bengaluru as it connected several major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad among others.
Currently, North-Eastern Railway division's Gorakhpur railway station is the longest railway platform in the world. The longest railway station which is located in Uttar Pradesh measures 1,366 meters and the remodelled platform and yard were inaugurated in 2013.

I would say that by adding more platforms it will obviously increase in the current number of platform that UBL main station is having

Also it would reduce the time wastage most often we see in UBL wherin trains are stationed at Outer due to no platform availability.

Since this is old building and also need to think on construction quality of railway building..
They need to strengthen old building or reconstruct new building if these type of situations occur

New Delhi: Short name, initials or incomplete name will not be allowed any more in the Indian Railways’ Passenger Reservation System.
If you are in the habit of hurriedly writing your name in short in the passenger reservation form of Indian Railways, your reservation application for a confirmed seat will get rejected.
To make travel on trains more secure and preempt the untoward elements from seeking reservation on fake names, the Railway board has decided to strictly allow confirmed booking on the Passenger Reservation System on the basis of full expanded name.
...

The Railways board has directed all the zones to follow the norm, which is expected to be made mandatory at all the stations and ticket booking centers soon.
Passenger Reservation System provides reservation services to nearly 1.5 to 2.2 million passengers a day on over 2500 trains running throughout the country.
So, those in a habit or writing initials or an incomplete name in the Passenger Reservation System, will not get a confirmed seat in the train.

Obviously they will provide since people would have paid high fares and would expect the same type of service.

A friend in need is a friend indeed: A hair-raising video that has surfaced on YouTube illustrates this proverb very well. In the video, a monkey could be seen trying to save another monkey lying unconscious on a railway track.
The monkey in the video is surely impressing for its presence of mind and efforts to help its injured friend. One of the monkeys in the video fell unconscious after experiencing electric shock while walking on the high-tension wires in Kanpur's railway station. The other money comes to the rescue.
