Oct 27 (13:21)   IIT Graduate Got Arrested For Developing A Faster Rail Ticket Booking App Than IRCTC

If you've ever tried booking rail tickets from IRCTC's official website, then you probably already know that it's a Herculean task. Yes, they say the website has improved over the year, but there's just no denying that it feels like it was created for the people living in the past.

Thankfully, we have other alternatives out there for booking rail tickets. But more recently, it looks like an IITian, who graduated from IIT Kharagpur, built a rail ticket booking system that was faster than IRCTC. This is the kind of thing you
want to see from the bright minds of IIT pass outs, but IRCTC's chain of thoughts was a little different.

They decided to sue him for that and the app has now landed the IITian in jail. We're talking about S Yuvarajaa, a Tirupur native. He's now in jail for creating what we think is a faster and more efficient solution to book tickets than IRCTC.

His app was called "Super Tatkal" and IRCTC says he bypassed their ticket booking system. IRCTC's argument is that Yuvaraaja wasn't an authorized agent and his solution deprived the chances of getting a ticket for people who use IRCTC.

He was charged under section 143 (2) of the Railway Act for bypassing the railway system and making money illegally. After this incident, a Twitter user who claims to be Yuvaraaja's friend made it a point to note that all the payments were directly made to IRCTC. He said that he was falsely accused.

We're now waiting to see how this whole event unfolds and will have more to talk about this as soon as we get more info.

sir remember JHANSI is a junction where Gwalior is not,and you may know the importance of JUNCTION more than me.Yes you are correct that the population of GWL is more than JHS but Also i need to tell that from JHS many travellers from east uttar pradesh like ORAI,KANPUR,LUCKNOW,BASTI,GONDA and GKP travellers come and board the train here using it as a vis station for further journeys here only.
Like i have also booked a ticket from JHS-CSMT in 22222 CSMT RAJDHANI and posted a question a couple of days ago.My question was whether a passenger gets dinner after JHANSI JN or not as catering is same of AGC and JHS (Rs 310)?

Jul 10 2017 (12:48)   Manduadih-Rameswaram Weekly Express tops India's most-delayed trains list

Indian Railways is notorious for its trains running behind schedule. However, which train in particular causes the most hardship for passengers? That would be the Manduadih-Rameswaram Weekly Express, according to a survey conducted by travel search application Ixigo. The express tops the list of trains that run late with the highest average delay time of 11.5 hours.
The train starts from Manduadih in Uttar Pradesh and travels more than 2,000 km to reach Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. The other worst performing trains include the Himgiri super-fast Express, which travels from West Bengal's Howrah to Jammu and Kashmir's Jammu Tawi, with an average delay of 9.3 hours and the Jan Nayak Express, which runs between Amritsar in Punjab and Darbhanga in Bihar, with
a delay time of 8.9 hours.
The survey, which was conducted among more than 20 million customers of Ixigo, also looked into the passengers' favourite railway stations. Among which, Vadodara topped the list, followed by Nagpur and the Howrah railway station. Among the lowest rated stations were New Delhi, Pune, and Kanpur.
In terms of favourite trains, the top three on the list were Bikaner-Delhi SF Express, the Mumbai-Jaisalmer SF Express, and the New Delhi Duronto Express. The worst-rated trains were the Patna-Kota Express, the Jharkhand Express, and the Seemanchal Express.
Commenting on these findings, Ixigo Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Aloke Bajpai said, "This survey takes into account the 200,000 user ratings and reviews on our app. We noted that cleanliness is very important for travellers at railway stations, which is why Tatanagar Junction was among the stations ranked at the top."
"Rajkot Junction station also received very positive reviews owing to its high standard of safety, which is every traveller's paramount concern. Food at railway stations is something that most Indian travellers appreciate and Karnataka's Davangere Station stood out as the top station serving good food. Travellers rated the Bikaner-Delhi SF Express as the cleanest train and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Duronto Express as the train serving the best food," he added.
Ixigo has become one of India’s largest train information apps with five million monthly active users. It helps 800,000 train travellers every day from more than 200 Indian towns. It also offers features such as PNR Prediction for waiting list tickets, train PNR Status, running status, platform number, coach position, etc.
Most-delayed trains in India
1. Manduadih-Rameswaram Weekly Express: 11.5 hours delay
2. Himgiri SF Express: 9.32 hours delay
3. Jan Nayak Express: 8.9 hours delay
4. Swatantrata Senani Express: 8.49 hours delay
5. Lucknow-Prayag Passenger: 7.38 hours delay
