1. For TL Monitor, you need to have at least about 200- 300 Confirmed Timeline Entries. Thereafter, if the TLM community accepts you, you will be appointed.

For News Monitor, you need to have at least about 50 News postings, and show an interest in posting more News items, tagging/editing existing News items, etc.

4. For Forum Monitor, although it is the most powerful group, most members (including relatively new members) are given one chance to prove that they can handle the responsibility with integrity. FMs are appointed for 3 week rotations, after which they must take at least a 2 week break, before being considered for another rotation. If their previous FM tenure was fine without violation of any rules, they are usually reappointed for successive 3-week rotations.

5. For FAQ Monitor, you need to show an interest in adding relevant FAQ questions to existing blogs. Currently, FAQ Monitors are usually the least important, but in the near future, many new features will make this group more prominent.
