You mean to say you booked ticket and you dint have the ticket when you travelled so you paid the full fare again ?
#
Which ticket was it ? e-ticket or paper ticket ? If it was paper ticket booked from PRS or internet, you should have applied for a duplicate ticket instead of travelling without it.

I think TC should have collected only 50 rs for issuing the duplicate ticket. Did you know the PNR number and the birth numbers for the tatkal ticket?

That is for e ticket. This is PRS ticket, so if you do not have the ticket, you are a ticketless traveller.

It seems, tht he had ticket to travel, but when TTE came he could not show to him for verification. and then TTE collected ful fare, and asked him to get refun.
Thus he has to file the TDR.
You need to file TDR :
Go to stn, with application and ticket and the receipt of what TTE gave, file the TDR and

you will get refund. If it is e.ticket, your account will be credited, if it is PRS ticket, you will get 'refund warrant' Time varies: four days for e-ticket, three weeks for PRS ticket at minimum.

1. Had it been an e-ticket, TTE would have issues EFT by taking Rs 50 and the identity card.
2. For PRS ticket TDR can be filed upto 30 days after date of journey. It can be cancelled over the counter within x number of hours.

This should be treated as a NO SHOW as the PRS ticket was never there... The went

to some other passenger (which in this case is the same Mr. XXX). So now the original passenger can claim 50% refund for not travelling.

Full refund does not come into picture and TTE for sure did not charge wrongly.
