Its not anything like against development. Ecological consequences of this project is so bad thats why this is happening. Things are changing bad to worse and we still want to cut such a huge no. of trees. For these projects afforestation should be started way before so that by the time trees need to be cut, their new generation is ready to take their place. Govt only talks about afforestation and environment but does nothing in practical.

50,000 trees can be up rooted and can be planted else. A green belt can be developed. A train route with electrification will cut down too much vehicle pollution. Why people dont see larger picture. Peresently if we see around 100 buses travelling by this forest area. How much pollution they emits ? What about cars and lorries ? Electrical can reduce this vechicle pollution by surely 50% and also helps humans too.
A single railway line will not create huge destruction, there are many international routes which are very much environmental friendly. Delhi Metro cut down more than 20,000 cars on road for a day, its shows the power of public transportation.

no direct train from Mysore to Calicut ( Kozhikode), bus route is just 211 km. From Banglore to Kozhikode train route is almost 600 km where by bus its just 360 km.
Jan 2018 accounts highest ever oil imports by India , its going like too much. We are paying almost 30 rs for every liter we consumed for petrol, Diesel almost 20 rs to other countries. If india want to self sufficient we need to grow electrical railway network and short routes. Over all it have great impact on pollution reduction, Economy , People travelling time.
