** In spite of same operating speed, VB is giving higher avg speed (of about 10kmph) than Raj operating on the same route due to Faster acceleration/deceleration as well as a liitle bit of higher priority
** Push pull means higher avg speed of about 5kmph depending on terrain and no, of stops.
** Tejas is a cosmetic arrangement and shall give same avg speed as Raj as operating speed is same.

Still without VB Rakes, Shatabdi TT can be easily cut down to 8 hour 15 minutes run, IR had removed the DHO halt in ZBTT but still increased 15 minutes in its runtime, this is when BPL Div has increased its MPS to 130 kmph from previous 110 (12002 Shatabdi used to run on 3rd line which had 110 kmph mps), 10 years back they have demanded the 8 hour run till RKMP (then HBJ) with 130 kmph in BPL Div. With VB rakes, NDLS-RKMP is easily possible in 7 hours 30-40 minutes. CSMT Rajdhani is doing NZM-BPL in less than 8 hours with 130 kmph MPS, with VB covering extra 14km with 160 MPS for almost 200 km is not a big task. But Yes this route doesn't have much political support, even a inauguration of India's 1st World Class Station failed to fetch any new Trains for Bhopal, even...

no announcement had been made then hoping for VB rakes before other routes is a very distant dream.

** Way back in 1989 when extension of shatabdi to BPL was announced, NDLS-BPL was done in 7:40 hrs (probably timing was NDLS dep 6:2) BPL 14:00-14:40 and NDLs arr 22:00.
** MPS was 140kmph on Delhi-Agra, 120 kmph upto JHS and till BPL it was just 100 (may be 110kmph on a portion).
**It was reported in local newspapers that CR officials were afraid that condition of JHS BPL track was not good and there were 60-70 kmph restriction on the section. Still the Shatabdi was able to maintain

time.
** Today with MPS higher by 10-30 kmph throughout the route and improved signalling, the avg speed has fallen. Traffic congestion (in addition to more stoppages) seems to be the predominant factor.

NDLS 615 BPL 1355/1440 NDLS 2225. With VB 160kmph upto Agra and 130kmph upto BPL it can easily cover in 7hrs leave NDLS at 600 BPL 1300 HBJ 1320/1440 NDLS 2200.

Agree. The time taken or alloted to Shatabdi in some section is more than which is actually required. Sections like AGC-MRA, GWL-JHS and LAR-BPL can easily cut the 20-25 minutes from its Time Table. Shatabdi being a Premium train and an alternate to the Dedicated Rajdhani to Bhopal can have the top most priority over other trains, by this IR can actually save time and let it arrive NDLS before 11 PM. In return even with 150kmph MPS it is taking almost same/more time as a 130 kmph train between AGC-MTJ-NDLS, not to mention that the 130 MPS trains also have some slack while entering Delhi. So some time can be cut from there too. I know because of ZBTT most the arrivals departures are also changed at NDLS but still some cut down should have been done in its TT. But seemingly IR is going to boast about the speedup...

its going to get after getting replaced by VB.
