Matheran is the nearest and the most popular tourist destination for the citizens of Mumbai. Central Railway with its shuttle services for passengers between Aman Lodge...
Why they are not running train service from neral to matheran like old time. Why are they running from aman lodge.
The reason is of Old Track and infrastructure issue
so plans to upgrade the section was made before covid but no progress yet.

They have to work on fast pace on this line then it is enjoyable until it is a city ride service. I am thinking who will taken train for just 2 km, they are promoting how much passengers they got. This rail service is like which is available in zoo with same type and speed. lol
I took a walk from aman lodge to matheran via tracks its more enjoyable than train ride in the hills

That's good to know and must feels enjoyable. When you are went for wandering then walking is the best option for enjoying full natural beauty. For just 2 km. train service is not okay, they must have to stopped and re-start when they connect again fron neral jn. to matheran.
