In addition to the railway station market, Durga Puja is celebrated in various localities of Chandrapura, including the DVC colony, established in 1959, the West Palli area (since 1969), and the Central Zone near the police station (since 1964). Other areas like D Type, Purva Palli, Jharnadih, and Darjeeling Colony also celebrate the puja. Rural areas like Telo, Paplo, and Narra also have active Durga Puja celebrations, with Telo even having a permanent temple. Other villages like Tarami, Chirudih, Alargo, Taranari, Taranga, and Kurumba also celebrate the puja traditionally. Chirudih's Giri family performs a special Vaishnavi puja.
