The Ajmer railway station has become the 35th in the country and the second in Rajasthan to have free wi-fi facilities, with BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav and MP Sanwar Lal Jat opening the service for passengers on Saturday.
“The Ajmer railway station, which sees more than 1.60 crore passengers annually, is the 35th station to have free wi-fi facility,” Divisional Railway Manager Puneet Chawla said here.
Udaipur, Bhilwara, Marwar, Rani, Falna and Aburoad railway stations under the Ajmer division will have the facility soon, he said.
Education Minister Vasudev Devnani and State Women and Child Development Minister Anita Bhadel were part of the inauguration ceremony.
Wi-fi facility will be available at all platforms and public places of the railway station, and people can connect to it through their cell phones, Mr. Chawla said, adding the facility will be available in 400 stations of the country.
The Ajmer railway station is the second in the State to have this facility after the Jaipur railway station. - PTI
