Re# 3345194-1
* Construction of DFCs is a good idea, but the biggest problem staring DFCCIL is:- shall IR actually hand over all of its profit giving freight trains to DFC thereby severely denting the revenue of Delhi-Mumbai & Delhi-HWH routes, which are amongst its prime money spinners. Earlier SR did not hand over Manglore port to KR as per the original plans. IR may ultimately divert only a fraction of total freight trains to DFC thereby denting the viability of DFC.
* IR always have upper hand in such ventures and often take undue advantage. Presence of independent regulator with adequate power is a must for ventures like DFCCIL and with privae parties to be succesfull.
